You guys remember the world-PvP initiative? PvP guilds/players, pick Briarcliff!

As far as RIFT and these forums go, I am a dinosaur. Myself, along with a few notable other members, was one of the talking heads behind the infamous Briarcliff world-PvP initiative.

For those of you who are new or don't remember the fiasco, here is a rundown: We rounded up all the top PvP guilds (and sadly picked up a few horrible ones like ZK and Ruin...) and designated Briarcliff as the official world PvP server. Most of us came from backgrounds in UO, SWG and DAoC and we knew that true server community stemmed from massive, open-world conflicts. Initially, on paper, everything looked fantastic. We got absolutely amazing guilds like Legionnaire, Fight Club, HARM and others all rolled here..

Obviously, what we did not foresee, were the ridiculous server ques that plagued us the first few weeks. While that was hindered (and we lost great players to crap servers like Seastone) the world-PvP (and the pre-mades) here were fantastic.

As the leader of Saga, I recently returned to the game (from the atrociously bad SW:TOR) and there is definitely hope for our server. It's not always easy to find enough kills to finish our PvP dailies... and PvP Rifts don't happen as often as we'd like... But that can all change! I recently started talking to guild leaders on our server (Guardian and Defiant alike) and members of other servers. People are willing to transfer to Briarcliff and attempt something like this again. We, as a server, need to put our shakeweight mentality aside and support this. Yes, were a sever of trolls with world chats that proudly put Vanilla-WoW /Barren chat to shame... yet, we also have class and PvP prowess that other servers do not.

TL: DR

If you're looking for a new server, pick Briarcliff. Simple as that. Even now, the best PvP guilds and the best PvP players are here.

It's True. I'm on a different server but hell, you log into a Warfront and see a whole gang of Briarcliff- watch out!

Yeah remember the pvp initiative where you guys went to 98 different servers sub forums and spammed  "COME TO BROCLIFF", then got confused when everyone and their mom rushed Briarcliff?

It is nice to have you back. Also it appears servers can handle much heavier capacities now then they used to be able too, so thatis a bright side. Also the burstiness has basically been removed from pvp.

Anyways Welcome back. Server transfers are fre btw, sooo

I would come in a heartbeat if I liked the PvP system a bit better. Granted it has been awhile since I played and this may have changed.

He who has the best gear wins was pretty much how it was when I left Rift. No use in trying to level up a toon in PvP when you were everybodys bitch until you got at least R7 +

Player skill only mattered if you were R8 v R8.  R8 vs R1-6 = lol R8 crush 4 people while eating a sammich on one hand, drinking a coke with the other, and your butt cheeks sitting on keyboard.

Gear Grind PvP game was not for me. I hope you guys who enjoy it have much fun tho =)

It has been split into rank 1-40 now. 1-20...10-25...15-30..25-35...30-40 for the most part get put in the same war zones. All rank requirements have been removed from gear, so no Rank + favor grind anymore EXCEPT FOR WEAPONS

The warfrotns now have a mercenary system..cough cough huttball...basically queue's for the war fronts are zero-1 minute now if that.

I think it's great that players are taking initiative to form a community.  Kudos to Braircliff community for getting organized.  At Faeblight, our pvp population has been low, obviously.  But there are now some guilds working in tandem to change that.  We've seen an upsurge in pvp community as well, and the team work has been phenomenal.  Aside from fast computers/internet speeds, the true skill in pvp comes mostly from the skill of the team, rather the individual.  An individual can fairly easily gear up, learn the macros and key bindings (not defaults either) and get "skilled."  But a team that communicates and puts objectives/tactics ahead of the individual is where I get that warm, pvp feeling of accomplishment.  Except of course, when we lose.  :)  See ya in the warfronts Briarcliff, and please dont troll our new folks, hehe.
