id love to play trandoshans, wookies, mon cal, rhodians, and all the species on this list, The one they dont mention though that id think would be so fun to play though is a ewok, laugh if u will but my gf would absolutly love to play one,
me i just want more choice in the species, i play, in wow i tend to play the non human races, i have 2 dranei, i have a goblin, a worgen, a gnome and tauren is my favorite race of all in wow. So id love more choice that wasn't just human based.
Right now in tor im playing a miraluka with my gf and a zabrak which i have at 42 but would love to have more non human looking races to play.
Well too bad so many players already burned through the brunt of the games content and buggered off elsewhere. Plus this will do little to nothing to address the biggest reasons that even some diehard fans have already tired of the game.

There are a ton of races they can put in, really looking forward to seeing some new ones in expansions or updates, I would like to see a Trooper like class for the Dark Side, I want the heavy cannons but not the halo to go with it

Well, i am hapy with situation now in swtor and i am glad to se some use of legacy system. What is important for me is more pvp achivement rewards . I am sure all of this little important things will come with the time

Oh yeah...anotgher race to level up an alt to 50 and be bored - not even close to making me resub and I'm still pissed I bought the game and the BW BS.

If BW are doing this because "It's been in the pipeline for ages", it just confirms that they cannot adapt. The game needs to evolve quickly, not slowly.

The Chiss already have iris-less eyes, so I think the eyes don't matter all that much for player characters. BioWare seem to be more hung up on the language side of things, for some reason. Heck there were Chiss NPCs speaking Huttese on Hoth, so I don't see why we couldn't have Wookiees speaking basic.

As far as that goes, there are quite a few species all ready in the game--Wookie, Rodian, Cathar, Gorn, Gormak, Gand, Togruta, Nautolan, Mon Calamari, Chagrians, Kel Dor, Trandoshans, Jawas, Weequay, Talz, Kaleesh, Devaronian, Houk... I'm not even going to try to name them all. Simply put, BioWare has included an impressive number of species. Though I'm not suggesting that we shouldn't hope for more diversity in the included playable species.
On topic, I would say that we're most likely to see Togruta, Nautolan, and Cathar, as future additions to the playables. These species have mass appeal, and moreover fit the bill for language (capable of speaking un-impedimented basic), romance-ability (Rodians are likely awkward kissers), and body type (current character models will suffice).
Some folks will want to try a new race/same class. Some have (apparently) saved a class until a race (if they are lucky) is implemented. For me I leveled 2 characters, one to 50 and one to mid 40s then went to a new server. Having a long list of mid 20s and 1 30, I will play the 30 to legacy to see the unlocks but it's unlikely I will re-roll again. I like this game but .... somewhat disappointed.
I already chose 8 characters & have them all 25+, so I'm hoping they add plenty of stuff other than races, because I don't see any of the Republic races as being worth re-rolling for (nor any they may add later).
Unless they add the ability to change race on an existing character.

Yeah, I phrased that super-badly. You're right.
Off topic, but I wouldn't be too worried about Rodians being awkward kissers, since the romance cut-scenes are awkward in general. I had a bugged to pieces romance scene with Vector a couple of weeks ago on my agent, which was probably caused by having the convo in a cantina instead of the ship: it ended up being mostly random shots of geometry with VO. On my Sorc the scene with Andronikos had me in helpless giggles. Mostly because my character got stuck in smooch-mode (in fairness, the Sorc. scene was a couple of months pre-launch in beta, so that may be fixed now).
Guaranteed that the new races will NOT deviate from the standard humanoid shape.
Too many layering and clipping issues to begin with. There's no way they could pull something like Wookies.
Well, Wookies (aside from the speech issues) would actually be fairly easy to implement. They would receive little to no armoring art. This precident is already set with one of the Sith companions Khem Val who wears little to no armor even though you can equip items in those slots; it simply doesn't show up. Wookies could be no different.

Pre-launch the only race I hopped would be in there was wookie but sadly it wasnt, If they add this in the future I would try the game again for sure.

My choices are pretty much the same as the authors, but with a strong emphasis on the Nautoloids followed clossely with the Togrunta.
