WTFAST Legit or Scam?

It claims to be a program like a VPN that reduces your ping from your favorite MMO game to your computer by "streamlining your game data to the game servers".  It looks fishy but they offer a free trial that disconnects every 20 minutes just to try it out.

What do you guys think?  Is this a scam or is it legit.

I tend to believe that if your keystrokes first go to a VPN, and then to a gameserver, back to the VPN and finally back to you that this would ultimately increase your total lag.  Maybe I'm wrong.   Any feedback is appreciated.

They do get some support from game publishers who have a large localization market.  When overseas there is a slight advantage, but not much.  Locally, you will lose speed, especially if your jumps are out of the way.  You also have less of a chance to lose packets.

Speed up connection speed by making data take MORE trips to get to your computer?

    I don't think so tim.

I guess how they claim it works is by making fewer trips between different high speed VPNs or something like that.  I never tried it to see if it actually works.

    Very possible in some areas.

Basically the legal leg work that makes the Internet work is a messy little thing.   Provider companies that serve the same area will often times refuse to develop the contracts to share the networks for local traffic often times routing stuff out of state/country before it gets to your neigbor(simplest example).

Will you see a difference probably not

Hi all. I can confirm that WTFast is definitely not a scam. We're working on improving the perception of WTFast.com right now but rest assured this is a completely legitimate business.

The way it works is that WTFast uses a network of proxy servers to short-cut the distance between your computer and the host game server. Currently most publishers have a long daisy chain of servers between you and the game server. Each node and server your game data passes through has the chance of being lost or delayed. If you remove more links of the chain, you improve the speed of exchange of data and increase successful connection.

Some people have asked why they don't just get a faster internet connection. Well, for one thing your  ISP only controls the data within their own network and once it's out of their hands you're still beholden to the same risks as described above. Also online game data are actually small packets of information so widening the 'pipe' doesn't necessarily help. WTFast vastly increases the safe delivery of those packets of information.

One description we use is that WTFast is an ISP for gamers.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to our support team. Better still, don't just take my word for it, try the service completely for free on WTFast.com.

I have used WTFast before, but is it worthit I would say not because in certain MMORPG's where I really needed the speed boost it didn't improve but about 20-30 ping maximum was still over 200+ ping like in WOW around 300 average on my server but didn't seem to lag at all at least thats what the game showed when I last tried it.

In general it redirects the network Traffic, and can really help depending on the servers location although with my internet for example I didn't notice much of a difference because its a 30mbit connection usually hits 20 max is around 30 so I dont notice much on the ping I really wouldn't pay monthly for it unless you maybe pay 1 month or something see how it works for you, and if you like the improvement then I would use it.

Other than that you could always try something like using a VPN/VPS because those might work, or I would really only use WTFast in a Tournament such as a FPS game where it would improve your Ping otherwise I think its a waste of money but the only way to know for sure if it would help is to try it and it depends on your servers location.

OverAll I do not believe it is a scam because it does do what it says at least from what I could tell when I tried it it just didn't improve mine much because of the servers location and because of where I am but it might work better for other people depending on locatino for example OverSeas.
