Rift free trial?
Yesterday I downloaded the Rift free trial patch from the web site. After playing through the intro instance for my character I couldn't wait to get into the world of Telara. Imagine my suprise when after two hours of playing through the Intro instance (which i might add is the longest Intro I've ever played lol) I get finally into the main world, but I can't leave the main town I can't go past the bridge to get into the forest to do any quests. And to top it all off there was nobody else on the server even when i typed a message in the chat window. Now I guess my question is: is this because im on the free trial or is there something wrong with my software? I've looked all over for some type of specific run down of the free trial version but keep coming up empty. Anybody know?

which server and side are you on? The free trial allows you at least the leveling areas upto 20 including the main cities. Makes me wonder if you're not on a test shard or something odd.
Never heard of that before,you are the first to expiriance something like that. Odd.
Problem solved I was on a trial server for some odd reason. But thx guys for your feed back the suggestion about the server made me look at which server I was playing on.
I bought some fancy digital "collector" edition for $14 and just made a character on a normal server, been playing it off and on a little here and there. It complains because I've not subscribed yet, but so far everything works!
Glad you found the problem. Come to Deepstrike there are plenty of people there.
