I thought i would share this video with the community just for people who haven't quite fully grasped how gorgeous this game looks. The title says it all and it definitely delivers.
Also did anyone else rofl at some of the dances? And perhaps went oooo ahhh during boob jiggling?

That is the nicest video I have ever seen of the starting zone, I wish someone would make a compilition like this for all the zones though, but to capture all the beauty I think it would be like 3 hours long lol.
Also lol'd at the high elf scene.
Yes TERA does have the boob jiggle..lol
On the Korean version they also say things when you do emotes..lol

To be honest, most Korean MMO nowadays have those kind of graphic.
I do agree they are beautiful, it's just not new.
Nice video now I want to play even more
few more hours and will be playing closed beta 2 w00t^^
For an MMO, and one the size of Vanilla WoW it is pretty impressive.
Aion had beautiful graphics too.
Then people played the game.
Great vid. I agree, the look and feel is impressive.
When I watched a few trailers, I thought "God, not again. The community will be full of idiots."
Then I tried the sneak peek weekend.
And the community was still full of it.
But surprisingly I enjoyed playing the game. It is a themepark, it is instanced or channeled and quest driven, but I still had some fun playing it with a gamepad.
Currently I am even more interested in this game than in GW2 - maybe it is because I actually played it.
Nice video by the way.
Looks amazing... not very fond of the theme though.
..Cake..
Its the fps as much as the quality of the graphics that wins me over, to get 30-40 fps on all max is a relief, after less than 25 on Rift and Swtor I was preparing to save up for a new machine, now I know is was just bad optimization.
It's one of the best features of TERA imo, looks better than any game out there but runs almost as well as WoW.
I get 40fps in Rift just questing and 80 in TERA. Both all maxed and AAx8 turned on via my graphics card control panel.
First of all nice video, but here's the however part.
Is it me or does Tera remind you of Final Fantasy / Aion?
I have been looking into this game once and awhile and just saw this video from the OP.
How can TERA seperate itself from the other 2 mmo's I have mentioned? Am I missing something or is this another run of the mill mmo competitor with a fantasy setting.
I am pretty much on the fence with this title since I am waiting for GW2 to arrive and the BETA weekends finally caught my attention.
So can anyone sell me on TERA besides the graphics?
Thanks!
When I played Rift at release in a crowded Silverwood and a zone event started with rifts and invasions everywhere, my performance was still very good when I fought in a random raid.
TERA sports reticle based, third person shooter combat. You have to manually aim all skills, even healing using ground heals, orbs that you spawn and the player has to click on or painting the target first before locking on.
It is quite nice imo, it also features some political sandboxy elements down the road and that interests me, I will play to see it for myself.
I´d suggest finding a beta key to find out if the combat suits you. As I wrote before, from what I saw at level 16 it is a themepark with standard quests and if a zone becomes too crowded, game opens a new instance.
So far I liked the world though, it felt like a fine place to escape to after a hard day full of work.
I myself hope crafting is rather grindy and economy expensive.
"It's one of the best features of TERA imo, looks better than any game out there but runs almost as well as WoW"
As much as I hate to split hairs.. it doesn’t look any better than AION and actually is still a step or 2 below FFXIV in terms of look and feel. To me the game looks like most of the games that are coming out of Korea these days. That’s not to say it isn’t eye candy, it is just not ground breaking.
That said, I also enjoyed the game in general and both liked and disliked parts of the game. The Voice acting was REALLY bad, but then maybe EQ2 and some beta star wars spoiled me. The "action" part of the game just doesn’t work well with casters for me. It seems you just spam spam spam spam. I couldn’t help but think this system would have been better suited for a Phantasy Star type of game where you could actually use a laser to spam and it would seem more natural than a mage spamming 12 cast a second wand.
I still enjoyed the game and will more than likely play it (seeing as I paid for the preorder I should).
No, your not the only one. TERA is very similar to Aion gfx design wise. More aion then FF TBH. Make no mistake TERA is Korean high fantasy.
If you don't like this style then nothing will sell you on TERA really... it's incredibly hard to get past the visuals and theme of a game.
If you DO like it though, and I personally do, it's a stunning example of technology meeting art.
Like the thread says, it's beautiful.
While I agree it's not *new* but what MMO is now days every single MMO coming in the near future has elements of others or has borrowed things here and there atm there is nothing *new* on the horizon.....

TERA stand or falls on the combat, if you can get into it, the rest doesn’t matter all that much, the style on some of the races can turn of some people, but then u have the Baraka or Aman that are fantasy in a less typical anime-ish way. As to the long term playability, we still haven’t seen enough of what En-Mass have done to endgame, or pvp.
Personally, I would take TERA over Aion or any other Korean/Japanese mmo right now, as the combat is far more satisfying. Give at least 1 melee and 1 ranged class a try in open beta, take on half a dozen mobs rather than 1 at a time like in WoW/Aion style fights, as it takes better advantage of the mechanics.
I don’t mean "new" as in content or game play, yes we may be very stagent as far as that goes, but a games "look and feel" can be new and fresh.
FFXIV has amazing visuals and a completely different game play model.. But as of now that model is not fun. So breaking the mold doesn’t mean better.
SW:TOR had a different look to it as well. Some people like it some don’t like it as much.
Dragon Nest actually has better action based combat than Tera but the game in general is more hack and slash 1 vs 50 than the current MMO standard and it has textures from 1992.
There is no right or wrong answer as to what a fresh new look to a game should look like, I am just saying that for all the “Tera is Beautiful” people out there.. Yes it is, and it looks like AION (and that was a fine looking game as well) It’s hard to get excited about how good a game looks today when we have seen its like and better 3 years ago.
TERA's texture detail and shading are better and the color palette is more vibrant. Additionally, if you stop and look around in you notice trees and foilage swaying, birds flying by or butterflies hovering and in the far distance you see falling waterfalls in what you think us a static backdrop.
I played Aion a long time and love it's artstyle. TERA is simply a better version of it.
FFXIV does have a texture/shading advantage, I would argue no MMO has yet to better them, but TERA's environment is still more pleasing to play in because of the vibrance and "alive" feeling.
Just not worth my time anymore.
Island of Dawn: Starter area.
Lake of Tears: Level 30+ area.
Eyefinity is kinda awesome with this game. It works flawlessly for once!
