I am betting that the Templar and the Illuminati will be the most popped factions with a nice phatty war being fought by the two and dragon clans picking a faction to fight against, tipping balances... what path are YOU going to choose?
The factions are not at war - which is ridiculously improbable, extremely narrow minded on the part of the developers, and will limit the population until the title is cash shop F2P. So what is the point of playing any particular faction then when your only enemy is predictable computer AI?
Amazing how they had the sense to build a 3 faction model, and then forgot that people fight.

You do know that TSW will have minigames and a persistent PvP zone with the three factions pitted against each other?
Knowing funcom, the persistent PVP zones will be tons of fun... much like Anarchy Online... In AO you coudnt pvp EVERYWHERE, only in certain places. This made for fun persistent battlegrounds.... THEN they added Notum wars which allowed for EPIC tower battles for land (notum) ... that .. was ALSO extremely fun. TSW is Anarchy Online 2 set on earth with AoC polish in graphics and Mass Effect like storyline set in an alternate present. Sounds like my cup of tea
Illuminati 100% and if all three sides arn't at eachothers throats it would be boring sure when you're doing the quests there will be help but when you're in the pvp zones the two other factions are fair game.
Dragon all the way, because to give proper reform you must remove the old. Chaos does that quite well.
The factions are not at war, Open war has no profit when you aren't benefiting from both sides. besides Dragon's style isnt open war. that being said they arent friendly with eachother either, WE ARE SECRET SOCIETIES. we aren't dumb enough to turn away help from the enemy when its offered or needed, if we did the secret societies wouldn't last long. we still intend to take eachothers land because its the buisness we are in. But War is not the correct word to describe the relationships between the factions.
Because i can. I'm Hopeful For Every Game, Until the Fan Boys Attack My Games. Then the Knives Come Out. Logic every gamers worst enemy.
Damn Devil workshipers always have the most followed by the Dragon, which in the case of the Dragon I find funny. There are so many Dragon cabals for a faction that is about chaos even amoung it's ranks... if it had ranks but the players turned it into one of the most organized factions. :-P
Because flying a Minmatar ship is like going down a flight of stairs on an office chair while firing an Uzi.
Illuminati - Took the quiz thing they had, and I have never been into the religious zealot or religious type stuff in game, and the Dragon just doesn't come across as too interesting, but maybe once I pay more attention to the game it will, so Illuminati for now, and possibly Dragon if I look into it more....

The factions are all secret societies and AFAIK, there are some secret wars going on between the three. This may not be the single main focus point of the game, but it is there for those who want to participate in faction warfare and duke it out in PvP for their side.
As stated in this interview, there will be persistent areas called Warzones that are non-instanced and can be faction controlled for buffs that are gained by everyone in the controlling faction. From this and other interviews I've read (trying to find them, will link when I can), it sounds like FC is definitely working on ensuring players have a sense of faction pride, ownership and accomplishment, which will naturally drive faction warfare.

Or so it seems... maybe the recruit is actually the leader?
seems like there will be alot of control based fighting between the 3 factions... Control of states/countries sounds to me like AO mets DOAC! :> BUMP!! MORE VOTES!
My buddy and I are arguing on which side to start Alpha Omega on... Dragon or Illuminati... I say Dragon, he says Illum... gonna be a hard fought political battle lol but hope I come on top with my choice. Lets get some more votes~
I'll be Illuminati. Money is power, and the Illuminati have both. Even though Illuminati is leading this poll, it's actually Dragon that I expect to be overpopulated - philosophical ambiguity seems to attract a lot of people, and when I've perused the TSW forums on the official site there's always seemed to be more Dragon than any other faction.
Well....I don't like the religious flavor that sort of goes with the Templars, and I don't like the political flavor that sort of goes with the Illuminati. The Dragon may be philosophically ambiguous, but it's better (to me) than the other two options. I think a lot of people see them the same way, possibly....who knows?
