it'll just make it easier on your computer if you had more RAM.

You're all laughing at him, but when you think about it, YES, lack of RAM does "damage" one component in particular... your Harddrive!!!

With just 128MB of RAM, the MMORPGs are constantly swaping info from his Harddrive and RAM back and forth.  Someone with 512 to 1 gig of RAM will have less Harddrive swapping, which means your Harddrive will run and work during load time, then work less while the game is loaded.  Since he has 128MB of RAM, his HD runs at start-up, during the game, in between zones, ... heck all the time!

    ___________ ___ __ _ _ _
    Stealth - Ambush - Hemorrhage - Sinister Strike x2 - Cold Blood - Eviscerate - Vanish - Preparation - Cold Blood - Ambush - ... you're dead! :P

Eh, to test the makeup for RAM-to-HD I heard on a whole other board I could build and run a whole other computer. My theory is that for every 128M of RAM, you'd need another HD in the RAID setup. Since I can't afford new stuff, I'm going to used some used gear:

    2x 20G HDs at 5400RPM (Partitioned to be 10G)
    2x 10G HDs at 5400RPM
    128M DDR333
    AMD Sempron 2800 (754pin)
I'll use an nForce2 Chipset with this Mobo, equiv vid of GF4.

Not bad for gear I had lying around the house. Mind you, I am going to have to install 2 PowerSupplies to make sure I get the neccessary plugs... since I only have 1 good powersupply and I'm using it. The case will be cooled by a floor fan and leaving all the paneling off the casing (front and back).

I can only hope I can get the gear to work before I get bored with the project and go looking for something more interesting to do.

I think someone really needs to read up on the function of a hard disk.  Im surprised you didnt say that it would burn out the guys CPU because it takes longer to process the data.

Do you know that unless your computer is in stand-by or you have energy saving funtions in your bios your hard drive is spinning? It dossent stop.  Do you think that the more data that your drive reads the more dammage it will cause?  Like, do you think the heads wear out because they have read too much data?

    Grab a clue, ok thanks.
