Extremely close there. Everything is within 2% of each other except the Engineer. I don't think we have quite enough data to determine what profession will be the most played and what will be the least played (except Engineer, which will very likely be the least played profession). Looks like there going to be a lot of balance and you should see a lot of every profession in game, unless something happens that causes everyone to reroll to a profession (such as major class imbalance).
I'm not sure anymore i just know i'll play a thief, guardian, elementalist, and warrior and probably have my main be one of those but i won't be sure before playing them for few weeks at least. Also the classes seam to have a lot of flexibility so it won't be easy to choose from, probably the one i feel the more comfortable with.
Very good to see. It just goes to show how Anet has managed to diversify the classes and make all of them interesting. To be honest i feared mesmers would be the pre-dominant class but it seems not to be the case.
After second guessing myself many times, I've decided to make 4 classes and try them all to decide which I will make my main.
-Thief -Warrior -Ranger -Mesmer
If too many people are playing a particular class, that may also have an effect on my decision. Mainly, I'm just trying to find the class that I connect with and will want to play for years.
Likely won't bother with Necro, Guardian, or Elementalist.
Races?
Charr
Sylvari
Likely won't bother with the others. I've played barbarians, humans, and gnomes in plenty of other games.

Also, an observation: Good grief, you people don't like being taken out of your comfort zones, do you??
"Buuut it iiisn't faaantasy..." What is? I mean, really. Sheesh. The whole idea of fantasy is to be creative, not creatively bankrupt. It's to try new things. But I see people going with stuff like the classic magic users, and the typical fighter classes... eesh.
This is of course based on how it looks and pretty much nothing concrete since I haven't played any of the classes so far. So it could turn out pretty different in a few months time.
It'll be tough to stay on one toon. For me one and two could swap closer to launch. The thief is also intriguing, as I play rogue types in alot of games. Honestly, all the classes have some very cool mechanics and look interesting. The only class that really just doesn't interest me much is the Ranger. In terms of the races, I really have no interest whatsoever in Charr or the Asura, but to each his own.

From the PvP reports I've read, that'll be Engineer, due to their massive area of effect abilities and their turrets.
