    I'm confused here.  768MB DDR PC2700/33MHZ, I've always thought PC2700 was DDR333 RAM... my bad,  it could be... just maybe there's a missing 3?

    ASUS-A7V8X-X(KT400) that's the VIA KT-400 chipset,  not as good as the nForce 2 SPP chipset,  but it's still good.  Is there any way you can get a better motherboard?  Maybe something with the nForce2 chipset that supports the newer 400MHz FSB AMDs.

    Good harddrive,  good videocard...  I thought this was cute.

    Do you know if that 2600+ AMD is the Barton core?

    lol I copied it from a site.  Yes, its supposed to be 333.  I didnt write the 2nd chassis fan thing, the company did.  Yah, I can huck on a better motherboard...  Ill take a look.  Thnx

    The amount of RAM is fine,  videocard is fine, etc. . .  even the sound is probably fine...

    I would just try to get a better motherboard and PC3200 RAM,  that's the biggest thing to look for (IMHO).

    personally i just go to www.pricewatch.com and build all my computers... i find its much easier and you get what you want at half the cost... the only problem is you kinda have to know what your doing. dont get me wrong building a computer is easy as hell... all it is, is putting tab A into slot B.... the hard part is figureing out which one is tab A and slot B. ;p

    Pricewatch.com is a good site,  but it's sometimes confusing...  and you have to rely on lots of different vedors to buy your parts from.  Newegg.com is about the same price,  and it's a trusted source.

    As for building a PC,  I tell people it's like LEGOs,  if it doesn't fit,  it doesn't go.  image

    yeah i've noticed you two are the ones that keep responding to my posts in like 2 mins time.... been playin RPG for like 15 years... started back in the paper and pen D&D.  so maybe you could learn somthing about that from me :p

    I can remember playing Usurper,  LORD, BRE, Tradewars 2010 on my old skool 386SX-33MHz with 4 megs of EDO RAM with my trusty 2400bps modem!  (Not even 1k download speeds!  YEAH!)

    yea... its amazing how much weve advance in such a short amount of time. i believe our 1st computer was 32 mb ram, 5 gb hard drive, 200 mhz, and a whopping state of the art 8 mb vid card! just enough to play solitare now days, heh.

    I have a 500meg HDD and I thought that was big!  I didn't want to upgrade from Windows 3.11 to Windows 95 because it took 200 megs!  hahaha...

    200Mhz was the life!  Think about my 386SX-33Mhz!  I couldn't even play DOOM!  My CPU didn't have a math-coprocessor!

    lol, i read somewhere the first computers took like 5 hours or minutes to figure out basic math problems. now there done in the blink of an eye. that was only... what, 40 years ago maybe? really doesnt seem like that long ago, people that were alive then are still... not yet old ill say, today.
