You have several choices.
Vindictus- Very neat game, very nice graphics for a f2p. 4 Characters to choose from, each with 2 weapons to pick which result in different combat styles and skills. The game has...a lack luster amount of skills (or at least I thought) but if you don't mind that then this may be for you. It can be repetitive and is pretty much all instanced. The choices of characters are as such.
Lann- Twin Spears or Twin Swords, the most difficult character in the game, but also the (debated) strongest. Spear Lanns have massive DPS and Swords have amazing surivability.
Fiona Hammer/Sword and Shield- The tank, with her trusty hammer she can dish out impressive damage, and take a beating herself. With her Sword, she focuses more so on fast more precise hits.
Evie- Staff or Scythe, the magic/alchemy user. It is debated as to which version of her is the "stronger" I do not know much about this character other than that she is one of the easier to use ones.
Karok- ...Pillar...thing/ Blasters (may not be released yet) A hulking behemoth of a character, powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with bosses, he sports a large pillar as his weapon and, if it has been released by now, Blasters...which look to be hand to hand style weapons.
Dragon Nest: A game that is similar to Vindictus, only with more skills and character class progressions. If you didn't enjoy Vindictus due to lack of variety, try out Dragon Nest, it may just be your thing. Problem for some- Gender Locked classes...but that isn't really a big deal. I've played both Vindi and DN, and while I enjoyed Vindi a bit more, DN felt like it would be more fun late game.
Grand Chase: A 2D beat em up, with a beefy roster of characters and each of them sporting 4 jobs (excluding 3-4 of them) you have a lot to pick from. On top of that, each character has Skill trees for their first jobs (4 have it for every job, the demons) which lets you enhance and learn skills. A lot of variety is possible, and while the community might not be the greatest, there are a few good eggs that'll teach you the ropes; I suggest checking the forums for that.
Elsword: Made by the creators of Grand Chase, this game shows much promise. Already sporting 4 characters and 2 class branches for each, it proves to be quite entertaining. The game, unlike Grand Chases more rapid movement and quick killing relies on the players ability to masterfully combo the enemy and resetting their Knock Down so they can continue the flow of the combo with letting the enemy escape by falling without a price. Warning: The game has a stamina system in place.
Rusty Hearts: A darker game, with an excellent sound track. Several characters to pick from, each with two different weapon paths. The visuals in this game are pleasing and the combat style reminds some of Devil May Cry. It is at least worth a try. The game had a stamina system, but due to player request, it was removed.
Dungeon Fighter: Comparable to the old arcade games, DFO is certainly just as fun. With a large cast of characters and 3 or so jobs for each to pick ,you won't be getting bored anytime soon. I found it difficult for the combat to become "stale" just because of the quality the developers put into it to make it feel like you are playing at the arcades, or on a PS1. Another game I would stress you to try.
Another possible choice...its not really hack and slash...but look at La Tale, similar to Maple Story only with slightly fast combat (at least in pvp) probably not what you are looking for, but I'll throw it out there.
I wish you luck in your endeavors and have a pleasant evening.
I second Dragon Nest. Started it a week and a half ago and it's pretty entertaining.
Only a few problems: gold spammers, occasional lag, and storage seems really limited until you know what is safe to throw away.
