No, they haven't. They've lost their butts on all those. APB has been a Day 1 failure and sold something like 40,000 copies before it went F2P. Which it is currently failing at.... Warhammer was a failure and still hasn't come close to break-even.
SWTOR cost $250 million. For EA to break even in its first year, they need to sell at least 4.5 million full-price copies AND have at least a million subscribers for at least a year. That's just to cover direct development costs, patching and other current-status-of-game issues.
I doubt they have a million subscribers at this point. I doubt they ever sell 4.5 million copies. I doubt this game breaks even in five years since they're going to have to keep developing, bug-fixing and totaly revamp the engine.
Making money is one thing. It's called 'gross receipts.' Making a PROFIT is something else...

To be honest though, you cant really compare Origins with any Elder scrolls because while they're both RPG's, they're both on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to target crowd (DA:O being Themepark Story Driven, Elder Scrolls is Sandbox freedom). It would be more appropriate to compare it to The Witcher if you're going to do any comparing.

agreed it was a dodgy list at best, ME was a pretty good game, whereas GoW was mediocre bordering on rubbish.. tbh, if it wasnt for the DLC issue with ME3 it would be a certainty for me to be buying the game, i avoided buying any of the GoW games though just because they were that bad, probably because their console ports. i'll be waiting until ME3 hits steam on a bargain basement price day though.. unless they change their policy regarding day 1 dlc, because i for one will not be paying an extra £10 for something that should be in the game already.

I hate EA a lot. Ask my friends, I'm constantly blaming them when games are bad/franchises ruined. "When in doubt, blame EA" is my joking motto. I completely agree with what you said about CnC(except for Generals) and Steam.
Apparently I don't hate EA enough. Maybe my hate is more of a constant light hearted jokingly rib/laugh at the company and not really 'hate'. I suppose I can't hate a company too much if I own a bunch of their games.

We really need separate forums for every newly launched game. There can be the anti-<MMO> one and there can be the 'what general discussion should be' one. All the lamenting can happen together where each can find solace in like minded can't-move-on-ers leaving the rest of us to actually move forward and discuss meaningful and relevant topics.
EA reminds me of those companies that find smaller, but successful companies, buy them up, dissect them in an attempt to extract the talent and get their good reputations but this process usually destroys the smaller company.
We have seen it way back with what they did to Origin and now to Bioware.
I think the OP was hoping for lots of interweb "high fives" and back slapping off the back of the "s h one tee" storm around the SWTOR launch. What better way to get in with the "it" crowd, only it didn't work.

They only are good at producing other sports games for consoles when they have a 3rd party show them how to do it then stab said party in the back (ie bethesda helped on the first madden game)

But I'm sure you've noticed a pattern, and it isn't coincedence. EA's business stratagy has been to look at the top and copy the king. But unlike that one's who ARE at the top, EA lacks anything really "special" Nothing is really special about SWTOR, or Origin, or Command and Conquer. Nothing about EA is very spectaculer aside from their ability to overhype... Well, fuckin EVERYTHING.
EA are coat tail riders, ladies and gentlemen. They can't innovate, they can't create anything really special, they're simply a bland, boring company who tries to square off with companies like Activision and end up getting embarresed, like when your big brother grabs your head as you try to swing at them. That's what EA is... The little brother of everything successful.

Those of you old enough to remember names like Bullfrog, Westwood and Origin know what I'm talking about. They strip mine small developers, ruthlessly apply ridiculous release schedules, force games out the door unfinished and then fold the developer, sucking up any IPs that are left and laying off everyone they can. They are the biggest force of destruction we have. And when they have a success, it's typically a derivative piece of crap with "broad appeal".
EA isn't good for anyone, least of all gamers.

Said this a dozen times now. If EA were around the turn of the 20th century, they would have bought up all the small auto shops like Ford and Benz,scrapped their innovative ideas, ripped the engines out of the chassis, and put a horse in front of them.
We would still be shoveling the manuer off the streets if companies like this were around back then.

Somehow they even manage to muck up The Sims, which only sells because of its history. Sure it sells well, but they could have cashed in even bigger by pushing it forward, instead of dragging it down. Or pulling nonsense like The Sims: Medieval, which was a decent idea, abysmally implemented, killing the chances of anything like that being tried again.
I hate them more for what they do to games like Spore though, a brilliant concept which they utterly destroyed with their typical dumbing down. I still have my doubts about how little they had to do with the massive fail that was WAR. Even APB, can't blame EA, except in their abysmal judgement for trying to publish it. Then of course there's the aquisition of Bioware, and subsequent release of their worst games, ever - coincendence? Yeah, sure..
Not sure about most of the OP's examples, but seems like there are so many examples of EA-branded mediocrity overtaking the industry. I do think EA is just all around terrible at anything game related. Other than marketting, and managing to stay on top just by throwing enough money around.. mostly on advertisement and the like, instead of actual game development.
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
