The only way people hate a game is if they have no life. Disliking is one thing. Normal people with normal lives just move on
can only laugh , so hate means no life? wiiiiii we have a winner!
Of course. If you hate something, I mean real emotional stuff then you are invested to the point where you have no life. I mean you really have made games the center of the universe for you to bring up the emotion of hate.
After today, the entire SE Asia rim is going to hate the game.
The Asia player base was just told it will be 2 months before they can transfer their toons to the new servers. After weeks of being told it would be days after launch when they do. Looks like they don't know how to do it
Then, the people who tested the server from SG and HK are getting pings of 350-400 because the backbone to Austrailia isnt really too good.
I have to say, these guys take the cake. Keep an eye out for the help wanted ads, BW- looking for someone with basic computer skills needed to help copy files.
Anyone interested in a serious answer to the OP's question?
Sure, the game is lacking in several departments, we don't need to go into detail if you have played the game. Once they fix all the elements the game is lacking which are important ones I and many others will be back. Simply put the game is a good start out the gate but really nothing to keep me there like some other big titles. Even when EQ1, 2, Lineage 1, 2 and WoW was first released they had more content and comfy creatures to keep you busy for more than a month. Just saying.
"The King and the Pawn return to the same box at the end of the game"

Actually, I wanted to address the overuse of the buzzword, "hate".
No, most of the old games were like that. In Lineage you had to hit 20 to be able to chat to mention one.
The reason they hate TOr is either because people got the idea that Bioware would make a PvP focused game or because it really is a single player game turned into a multiplayer one which they didn´t expect it to be. Not to mention the SWG vets which hate it for not being SWG 2...
There are many reason why someone could hate or love TOR but that is a rather weird one.
I think this pretty much sums it up. Regardless, anyone who thinks these forums are a barometer of reality are on crack. The same people say the same things over and over again giving the illusion it represents something meaningful.
Yep. It's called the echo chamber. They come here to vent negativity and their fragile egos are validated when others agree with them. It becomes their own insular world.

Nah. There's casual hate which takes up very little time. There's the hate crusaders who think they're doing a public service by foaming at the mouth. Then there's the real obsessive haters who spend a ton of time hating everything. You can spend as much or a little time hating as you like. Just remember
“Never allow anyone to rain on your parade and thus cast a pall of gloom and defeat on the entire day. Remember that no talent, no self-denial, no brains, no character, are required to set up in the fault-finding business. Nothing external can have any power over you unless you permit it. Your time is too precious to be sacrificed in wasted days combating the menial forces of hate, jealously, and envy. Guard your fragile life carefully. Only God can shape a flower, but any foolish child can pull it to pieces.”
~Og Mandino
There's no such thing as casual hate. It sounds like a convenient spiel to avoid dealing with the issue of being a little too invested to the point of not having anything else going for them.
You would think people that has other things to think about, would move on to other things rather than posting day in and day out or even devoting considerable time to write blogs how a game has wronged them in some way.
Even though I have absolutely nothing to base it off, I sometimes get the picture we are dealing with people who doesn't go out. People tied to a chair unable to do anything else but play games either long term unemployed, physically disabled, have some sort of social phobia or other mental disorders, like being extremely introverted that keep them inside all day playing games to the point where it becomes an unhealthy obsession. I see these people banging on keyboards on various game forums arguing and picking fights over games they play for one reason or another because that's all there is.
I just don't see normal people spending this much time writing and hating games on boards. Maybe i'm the deviant. I play a game. I dislike it. I play something else. I may post 1 time why I dislike certain aspects of a game but if i really really dislike something. I more than likely won't even bother doing that. To me that's normal behavior

It isn't rocket science. Many are simply passing time while at work, school, streaming, etc. so not like it is surprising they do things like tinker around on message boards.
As to the OP, could be a reason >_>
Can't say for sure. I'm not subbed anymore but I certainly don't hate the game nor have any ill feelings towards BW.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

Sure but we are talking about hate here. Not random posts from work. There's actually people on these forums that has made it a mission to attack games based on pure emotion. I don't care how you want to spin that. That's not normal behavior
If we are talking about writing a post or two why a game sucks that's one thing.
Hate, no. Apathy, yeah. I don't find SWTOR worth "hating". It does what it does, but it's not my thing so I quit playing. I recommend people who don't enjoy it just do the same and save themselves some effort arguing about nothing.
Thats the reason now I have ironed it out I can now resub and go troll for credits cause thats the adventure I choose in an mmorpg! I have seen the light. NOT Tee-hee.
Actually, when the game first launched you could run to the shuttle and take off to Fleet and beyond at lvl 1. It was an unannounced patch shortly after. I logged in to discover I couldn't do it anymore (even on toons I had done it on previously).
Even when I could do it, the game still was missing stuff. But what do I know.
I think it's hilarious that they news about this game has completely changed.
Has anyone else noticed this? It went from OMGWTFBOBAFET to "what they plan on fixing in their upcoming patch"
All MMOS need fixing you think GW2 won't after release?
I look forward to the day that GW2 needs a patch for something so that we can all flood the forums screaming about what a failure it is.
I swear... it really seems like a lot of people on these forums have never played an MMO before. These games are always changing... always correcting for problems, balancing things, etc. If anyone actually believes GW2 will be different, they are delusional.

this is 100% true, no other site has so much hate, and its not making them powerful

They need to get rid of the fleets because they make the rest of the cities an empty and lonely place.

this boys and girls is why I never even bought the game.
The real haters are still fans.
Right now they are racing their pod around the desert on Tatooine and having a great time.
A month or two from now, they are going to be like "Where's Padme? NNNNOoOOOooOOoooo!!"
Wait for that rage.

Me too. It's an option that should be in the game. It would make it more "sandobxy". But, no, they had to go theme park all the way. Ok, their loss.
An honest review of SW:TOR 6/10 (Danny Wojcicki)
Why people dont like SWTOR. Hmm, becouse it's shit?
Ummm nope.
Yep.

I don't like WoW or any other braindead ThemePark. I certainly won't play WoW because you add in lightsabres.
