VG doesn't count origin either, which if you go by what EA said is about 40% of their sales.
Ah yes, derp, forgot about Origin for a second there. Vgchartz use whatever numbers they're given, and EA announced their ToR figures outright. They do that for a few games. VGChartz tend to try and avoid looking like tards, even if Valve show them up every time they speak. Like how Portal 2 sold the most on PC, yet VGChartz is miles off.
So maybe (well, they almost certainly...) they don't count origin either, but simply just used what EA told them was right
EA dropping the price within two months? That can't be good.
This is a sale, not EA dropping the price. Stores occasionally have sales on things... this is nothing new. Please spare us the doom and gloom predictions.
Even if they do drop the price permanently, this happens with every game. For instance, you can already buy RIFT for $14 on Amazon.
You realize though why amazon is doing this right??? They have to buy the game from EA to distribute it , they pay full price for it but if they sell it to someone $20 less they lose money. the only reason for amazon or another store to do this is because there is too much inventory on hand.
do you honestly believe that they were selling TOR faster than hotcakes they would reduce the price? I doubt it , you know it < I know it , and every consumer out there knows this. don't be naive!
I would give you a guest pass to SWOTR, but then I wouldn't be able to find a way to live with myself afterwards....
This game is not an MMO. Let the sales records reign. Lets see how many subscribers there are in a year. Hell, two years. This is a single player game with MMO aspects like GW. The difference is GW does not ask for 15 dollars a month. My worry is they will see this terrible game and change their minds. If I ran into one more elevator or freaking "weird, because their is no reason rock" I will burst. Not to mention I hope any company that takes anything from from SWtoR... it is that they should not voice act side quests. 10 rats were bad. 10 rats plus 3074 (call the hyperbole police!) minutes of dialogue is worse.

I have to agree on you about the voiced side quests. Thats only fill up my precious SSD space with stuff that annoys me.
I am not so sure MMOs even should have side quests at all. They hide the grind a little but not much.
rofl was really funny looking at all those suckers that bought up the CE;s thinking they were gonna be selling them for $400-500 a year from now all dumping them cheaper than they bought them on Amazon.
If WoWs latest expansion taught me anything... We need side quests. We just need them to be what they are, "Side." I hated cataclysm as much as I hated SWtoR. So linear you want to gouge your eyeballs out. Well, maybe that is just me lol. Random quests are great. Having a linear sequence that you cannot deviate from is not. I would rather watch a movie. It is the same thing. The only difference is netflix is cheaper.
What I learned from WoW AoC Rift SWTOR etc. is that questing and themepark MMO's are no longer in... They were never fun to me, I gave them a chance but they always suck. Lets make a good game please, quit with the single player themepark games.

Seems the majority of MMO gamers disagree with you.

Yes, yes this is exactly how retail sales work! /Sarcasm
I know reality and factual information usually don't mean much in this forum but sometimes you really get gems like this one! ROFL!

Well, they could have bought in too many copies of course from launch but it is more likely that EA is lowering the prices to sell more. It is the monthly fee that brings in the money for P2P. Retailers really hate having tons of unsold games lying around.
If it would have been B2P and already lowered the prices things would be different, games like GW2 will need that money but TORs boxes could as well be free.
Still, it is not a great sign that they already lower the prices, far from a disaster but not great either.

Ehh... that's not exactly how retail works btw. Especially giant online ones like Amazon who has 'infinite' space.
A basic indication is the lack of the same 'sales' by other retailers.

For anyone that want to know how retailers work, look up 'Loss Leaders' and how it is used.
It is used with a lot more subtle differences nowadays as everyone knows about the basics of it, but the basic function hasn't changed. It is just how retail works.

This game sucks so bad, I would buy it again because it is such a great price.

You must not shop amazon much, they have had sales on many very popular games, it's just what they do.
Too pricey.
Currently bored with MMO's.
