.can anyone give me a list of the classes and such thank you. for your time and bye.

It'll probably be better than DAoC. Easily. It's innovative as hell.
There will be PVP...at least, PVP servers. I'm sure you can challenge people as well, and there may be arenas, I'm not sure...
I'm sure you'll be able to dual-wield. You can in all of Simu's other RPGs. I doubt they'll get rid of a good thing. Besides, why wouldn't you be able to?
Classes:
Physical:
Fighter
Rogue
Archer
Monk
Mental:
Wizard
Necromancer
Bard
Gearmage
Spiritual:
Druid
Cleric
Healer
Alchemist
You get to pick two classes when you make your character, which is just fancy.
i have this in another post but i think it belongs hear
Id like to see a ranger class that would be something like thiss:
If i were going to Design a ranger class id give them all survival skills, such as:
Stralking
Tracking
Hiding
fishing
skinning
Foraging
Swiming
Climbing
Hunting(traping)
Disarm traps
Knowledge of natural herbs (ex. healing over time or entering altered states of mind)
Knowledge of woodland creatures (knows weeknesses of animals)
Wilderness Bonuses (all skills including weapon skills)
Ranger class = Archer/Druid. Since we pick two classes to make our character, that's what you gotta pick, I'm sure.
I hate when MMos make Rangers Archers/Druids id rather them be Archers/Rogues or Archers/Figters not some week half crapy healer/buffer / crapy half fighter/archer its dumb a ranger should be a surviver
Well, they won't be crappy, because both classes that you pick ARE EQUAL. This isn't FFXI. Therefore, you will be as much as a badass archer as any other character, and just as good of a druid as any other character.
Besides, it makes sense for them to be archer/druids, and they will still be survivors as you said. How so? Let's go over the class ideas of a ranger:
Rangers are damn good hunters, and being good with a bow helps that. (Archer)
Rangers can track people in the outdoors because they are familiar with natural surroundings and how people effect them. (Druid)
Rangers are at home in the outdoors. (Druid)
Rangers could, if they needed to, fletch their own arrows on the field, and know what wood to use to do it. (Archer/Druid)
Rangers sometimes befriend animals. (Druid)
Here's what Rangers DON'T do. The classes in parenthesis DO do these things.
Rangers are damn good with bows, therefore, they aren't so retarded as a to run up to a critter and start hitting it with a sword when they can take out from a distance. (Fighter)
Ranger's aren't bloodthirsty berserkers. (Fighter)
Rangers don't really like cities. (Rogue)
Rangers usually don't pick pockets. (Rogue)
While Rangers can blend in with the environment, they aren't so good and blending into the shadows, nor are they good in blending in with a city environment. (Rogue)
Rangers don't stab people in the back. They shoot them in the face...or in the back, I guess. (Rogue)
Yeah, so, Rangers are definately Archer/Druid without question. Don't worry, Simu will make sure that that class combination isn't sub-par like it is in other MMOs.
Yep! Though they're still in the works, the Bard/Necromancer combination was 'Keith Richards' for our demo at SimuCon (you younger kids can google that to get the joke. ;p).

I realize that, but Iv never read a book where a ranger healed him self with the power of nature or caused vines to grow up around someones feet. im just saying that Archer/Druid should not be the only combination to be consisded for Ranger. Every other game out there Forces Rangers to be Hlaf druid A quarter Archer and quarter Figter i just want a change. i want a game that lets you make a ranger where you dont have to cast to meet your full potital.
and a ranger useing Melee weapons out in the wilderness is very plausable. Perhaps by chance they came face to face with a very angry bear or some pouchers or highwaymen Id say melee weapons would be very usefull in thoughs situations as well as the ability to hide.
Im not saying that an archer/druid isnt a viable combination to be a Ranger. Im just saying that I hope thats not the only Combination that can gaine the "Title" of ranger.
And if you look at Simus history with the Ranger I think youll find that Archer/fighter or archer/rogue is not farfetched. like in DR they cast almost no spells at all they couldnt even cast a single spell untill circle 13 and to gain new circle they had to train 3 weapon skills something like 10 survival skills that included hiding stalking and even stealing(optional but usefull) I forget the rest. but A ranger in DR was not even close to being half archer half druid.
You really need to read my posts.
You really need to read my posts.
I would like confirmation of this from an actual dev..which you aren't. I've noticed that just because you have played some of Simu's other games, you think you can state 'facts' about HJ. You're a very arrogant kid.
Yes I did read your post in this thread, but chose not to treat it as gospel.
EDIT: Would like to add that Simu acutally refers to the two professions you choose during character generation as 'primary' and 'secondary', which would seem to indicate that they are NOT equal. I believe I have a valid question.
Granted.
Now hold on there. Most of the stuff I say about HJ to others ARE factual. I can state facts easily when I know that they ARE facts.
So how can I state it with the classes? I believe Simu stated that there are 60+ possible class combinations. If, in fact, there were primary and secondary class combinations, and therefore this number would have to double, because something like fighter/rogue and rogue/fighter would be an entirely different class combination.
You also have to realize that because I have played Simutronics' other games, just as you said, it means I have a better idea of what they are up to. They aren't going to just abandon all the things that made their other games successful, now are they?
In addition, where do you get the idea that I am a kid? My age is hidden on my profile. I could be a child, but then again, I could be 90. Don't assume, it makes--well, you know.
Arrogant? No--logical.
Well sorry, I couldn't tell.
Granted.

Ren, I did not mean to sound like I was harping on you, so I apologize for that. However, what you have stated below about the primary/secondary class thing still cannot be taken as 'fact'. It is still only your speculation of what you think Simu may do, based on the information you have. Granted, it makes sense considering the combination total they have given, but then why wound they split the two classes into titles such as 'primary' and 'secondary' if there were equal? The very nature of the two words suggests that one class would be dominant over the other.
The only reason I called you arrogant is because of your initial statement to me. You assumed that I had not read what you had posted earlier, and stated so with an attitude that suggested "I am 100% right about this subject, so there is really no reason to ask the question again."
Anyway, I want to be clear that I wholeheartedly agree that your experiences in other Simutronics games probably makes you much more in the know on how they do things than the rest of us. However, I would suggest that you refrain from making your comments on HJ game design sound so 'factual', if there is not a 100% chance that you are right about it.
And how do I know you are under 18? You stated so yourself in the thread about HJ GMs (I believe you were disappointed that the position was not available to those under 18).
See? I DO read your posts
Anyhow, hopefully no offense was taken. I consider you an intelligent individual, and one of the better members of this site.
rICHARD p dIDDY
I JUST realized that I did that when I got up this morning. BAH! :P
Alright, no offense taken now that you apologized. I hate the word 'arrogant.'
Also, I realized this morning that the equal-class thing isn't too far fetched due to HJ's Hero Point System. You know, the system where you use Hero Points to get abilities, and how you can use those to get abilities from either class? Well, if the classes are equal and you could gain all of their abilities...does that mean you choose to?
Basically, what I'm saying is...do you use your Hero Points to make your character 50/50 for his life? Or do you dump a crapload into something like your Rogue class and completely neglect your Mage class except for a little bit of Pyromancy.
So, you could have a 50/50 class/otherclass character...but you could have a 80/20 class/otherclass character as well. It all depends on your Hero Point spending.
Heh, I agree with the fact that that is completely illogical.
OENOES I NEVAR HRED OV SIMU SO THIER GAMZ MUST SUX LOL!!!111one
I never heard of tri-Ace until I played Star Ocean 2. That game was crack. I never heard of Valve until I played Half-Life. That game was also crack with additional crack called 'mods'. The game was also named 'Best PC Game EVER' by PC gamer. I never heard of ID software until I played ...Commander Keen, I think. Or Wolfenstein. Both owned.
Just because you haven't heard of a game company doesn't mean they suck.

Good points made about the Hero Points thing, Renian. Now if only we could get absolute verification on the matter *cough*devs?*cough*
Agreed.
None of what you guys are talking about makes any sense too me, Is there someplace I can learn more about this game, from a lagistical standpoint. I just hope the game play is more impressive than what I'm seeing from the screens, Lets be honest, this game looks just like everyone elses. I wish someone would step up and make a great game for once.
See: Simutronics' text based games at www.play.net.
My first character is probably going to be an Earth-Ilvani (sp?) who's some combination of Archer/Druid/Bard (haven't decided yet, probably Archer-Druid). I love taming, so I hope they do it well in this game. I was a Creature Handler in Star Wars Galaxies until they got rid of it , and I loved looking around dangerous planets to find and tame babies of the rarest animals - I hope HJ has a feature like that.
My brother says his will probably be a Qwi (sp? - the gnome-like guys) who's some combination of Cleric/Healer/Gearmage - probably Cleric/Gearmage. He was initially looking towards Cleric/Healer or Healrer/Cleric, but those will probably be hard to solo with (too little damage). What's the difference between Cleric and Healer anyway? Clerics get buffs and holy attacks while Healers do more hardcore healing? He's really excited about the character customization, it looks really great.
The unofficial FAQ quotes David Whatley (I'm pretty sure he's a dev) as saying "Because of our dual profession system, primary and secondary, there is a lot of variation beyond just fighter vs. spell slinger." so it looks like one is going to be higher than the other.
On the other hand, it also quotes Melissa Meyers as saying "Players will select two choices from a dozen class options for their character. These two class selections combined define the abilities that become available to a character as they advance. The result is about 60 combinations of character abilities but theres more:" With 12 classes, there should be 132 combinations if order matters, 66 if it doesn't. The mention of "about 60 combinations" implies that order doesn't matter (no primary or secondary)
My guess is that they have primary and secondary, but it doesn't matter enough for Melissa to count them as different (e.g. Archer-Druid is close enough to Druid-Archer to be counted as the same).
