    Then don't?

I think that's his point. People did and for what?

Game has one thing. Its Story.

And there are two problems with that:

    1. The Story is the same, no matter what choices you make. There is no consequences for anything you do.

    2. The Story ends at 50, and your left with a Husk of a game.

Then theres the PvP: It sucks, its just a stun fest of everyone doing the same damage, in the same gear (reminds me of WoW PvP at 70-80). TONS of abilities that just spam up your bars with stuff that simply just "DOES DAMAGE". I have a razer mouse with like 20 buttons, and I still had trouble trying to find a keybind for everything.

Then theres the fact I went from 1-50 twice, at the time everyone was leveling, and only seeing 4-5 sith dudes in the world (even tho my server was like 80% sith population). Seperated leveling areas is super lame. I rolled on a PvP server to PvP.

Game has nothing new, the only reason it was so hyped is because it was Star Wars and Bioware.

EA has taken Biowares soul. It no longer cares about making good games, all it cares about is getting the game out the door and on the shelves. Only game I'm going to buy with a bioware stamp on it from now on is going to be Mass Effect 3, and thats because I want to see if Tali is a pig or not.

You are on MMORPG.com..that should tell you something about constant negativity that surrounds every MMO here. TSW community is the smartest since they are close knit people, they decided not to post on mmorpg.com and even if they do keep it to the minimum. best decision they ever made.

i am /applauding this reply! (And i'm not being sarcastic!)

I find it odd the level of anger thrown at games like this. If these comments were from genuine investors of this title I could understand. Being hoodwinked into stumping up serious money to develop the next big thing only to find it's not revolutionary and just another MMO deserves anger. Buying it and not liking all that much? Woop-de-doo.

In many countries people kill each other over football games...these people are generally just fans with no sort of financial investment towards the team at all.....Considering the amount of time people invest into these games how can you not see how sometimes people will get a little up in arms about things like this. Especially on a game with probably the biggest scifi IP ever created. You don't see people going as crazy about Rift.. wonder why that is?

Then perhaps you're not a serious MMO player.

Our guild spent over a month organising a move to SWTOR. MMO's are a long term commitment for a lot of people.

It's not just the box fee we were duped out of, it's had a detrimental effect on the whole guild.

Imagine also if you will, the Star Wars fans who are now denied a decent Star Wars MMO for x many years, until this sad excuse loses the license.

There were a lot of hopes for this game, extinguished in the space of a month.

It's funny how this argument of the "i am a serious mmo player" comes in handy when you want to disagree with someone's argument and you have no good arguments left??

Nikoliath's right 1000% on that, and the thread before you is just stupid! I will never accept the amount of violence shown between soccer sports enthousiast, are we forced to be baboon's like them? I believe not!

And you with your " serious mmo player" make this sound like a bad job, probably something that could be described in a dilbert strip. There is no such thing as a serious MMO Player and if there is, you will never but never be satisfied with anything the industry will throw at you, even it's GOD approved before shipping.

It's really stupid, if you post on this forum that you like the game, you get to be bashed left and right by 'serious mmo players' but when you go on a post bashing a game and you defend your opinion you get to be bashed upon.

Anyway i'm getting tired of the kid attitude towards game or the "i always had what i wanted and i will go ape if i don't get it" attitude, grow up a little.

Maybe the problem is there, how much time should you invest in a game like this versus real life!

Let's get something straight right now, majority of players who are disappointed about SWTOR are those who rushed to the end like crazy and figured out that the pace was much slower once they got to 50! And that is there own problem, not the one of the game. And some of the "cons" of the games i have read here were so stupid and pointless they didnt even deserved to be posted, still people thought this game was a complete failure over such trivial stuff! It's simply incredible! And as for the soccer thing and as i have mentionned above, this is no reason to react the same way they do and with the same hate they show. It's just stupid and childish to react this way on something that should unite people instead of making them fight one another like crazy baboon's. So comparing mmo players rage toward a game to a bunge of apes fighting over a balloon is just insulting and a really bad comparaison.

Yes and it's no justification, they rushed threw a game and figured out in the end that they didnt had the same amount of content than in wow CATA and went ape about it and started ranting about anything, even the fact you can't sit on every chair of the game. This is simply not constructive and doesn't help the game devs to improve a product to make it better! But this is a pointless conversation because you will stay on your arguments and i will do the same. And even it people get crazy over all kinds of things it doesn't justify the hate.

your argument is true for some but not everyone i myself could not even get to 50.. I tried and had played many alts but the game just wasn't very good to me for a variety of reasons.. same with many I know and many on these forums.. lack of stuff to do at 50 isn't the only reason so many are upset over this game

Lucky you that are having fun with SWTOR.

    I envy you.

I spent 75e on it....wanted to love it...wanted to have fun with it....

All i got was a lvl 42 Sith and a sense of "forcing" myself to get to lvl cap to see at least the end of my personal Story....

But the truth is that i don´t even bother about loging in anymore...i don´t even think i´ll make it to lvl 50....

    PURE BOREDOM.

I´ts not a MMORPG for me...not even a fun single player game.

    BIGGEST dissapointment EVER ina MMO.

Even Aion got my attention 7 months when it lauched....

I will not be making 3 months in SWTOR....

    I know...it´s all about tastes.

    Not my flavor i guess.

Lets just put it this way...

As a guild, we've been far more satisfied with every other mmo we have played since beta, including WAR, AION and RIFT.

SWTOR is the only game we just couldn't, for the sake of our members, continue to play for at least 6 months.

1 month is arguably all you'll get from SWTOR unless you're a slow leveler, a single player enthusiast or a Bioware fanboy.

I bit the bullet and subbed for an extra month because I'm not the kind of guy to make a hasty decision. Bad move!

As for having no good arguments left... you betcha! Only because since launch they have already been said so many times.

The forums are littered with the same arguments over and over again by all types of players.

What? You want us to make new ones up?

No need, the existing arguments are more than enough.

I thought it was pretty great, and I am sure others agree, but can you please remember its all opinion based? Expecially when the major complaint against this game seems to be, "Its too WoW like.". Concidering more people play WoW than all other MMOs combined, and even more so if you concider every WoW like MMO.

and I'm sure the people who still want ot play these type games are eating this one up from 1-49.. many people that are looking for a change and were hoping with the hype, IP, and budget behind this one we would at least get a taste of something new gameplay wise but sadly we did not...

You're missing the fact that you have different tastes than the majority of the gamers who haunt this website. I've had very little performance problems with this game and what few I had were not game breaking. Far as the single player nonsense, I've grouped more in this game than I have any others that I have played. The community on my server is also far and away more mature than some of the drivel I've had to deal with in other games(STO was the worse.) There are some things that I would like to see improved and most of it is coming up in the 1.2 patch.  All in all, I couldn't be happier. My best advice is to just enjoy the game, let the haters keep doing their little forum PVP, and pop in here when you need a good chuckle. ;)

So the TOR offered noting new in terms of gameplay?

    Stop, just stop...

what "new" did TOR offer gameplay wise? the story aspect is not what I consider gameplay. Since you are not actually playing the cutscene you are watching it. But anyways please enlighten me to what great new features this game has brought us.. the companion system has been done before, basic trinity system done before, basic 3 talent trees done before, warzones done before, operations/flaspoints done before. I'm curious what's new with the general gameplay?

Woop-de-doo.

Well for the argument part why do you basically get on the guy and say that he is not a serious mmo gamer? I mean if you don't have any arguments up anymore or you feel all the arguments have already been said it's no USE adding MORE on top of IT because it just piss people off?

Gaming is now big business.  Companies are more concerned with marketing the game and making it another global esport than making it fun.  Long gone is one of the most important parts of an MMORPG, the RPG.  It's the player's story.  MMORPG just means interaction of the player's story with the stories of others.  It's supposed to feel personal.  The player is supposed to feel like they are building and controlling their character.  It's supposed to have options and choices that make it your own.  Choice has been murdered and hidden in a dumpster in the alley in the name of balance and fake equality.  Yet, we are not anywhere near closer to anything resembling balance than we were when we had more choices.

These games still launch incomplete and full of bugs.  No game is perfect or bug free, but that is not what we are talking about here.  Acceptable bugs are ones that happen under obscure scenarios or combinations.  Not ones that happen predictably under normal conditions and were already reported during beta.  Missing features with nothing more than a carrot on a string called "Soon.".  Investors pushing for their quick returns and missing out on long term profits that would dwarf what they end up with and ruin the reputation of company after company.  Who, use insane statements of how so and so doesn't do it any better or does the same thing as an excuse.

When will they learn that game play is what matters?  Did minecraft get popular because of it's amazing graphics and voice over cinematic cut scenes?

I could go on about all the things about SWTOR that I don't like or the state of performance and bugs.  But, that horse needs a good five minute break before the beating starts again.  Between what Blizzard is doing to WoW, new games flopping like fish with tourettes, and AO still hoping people will buy that a new engine is coming "soon", I just don't have any hope left for the MMORPG market.  Guess I should buy a console and pay another $15-$20 for a map pack... *sigh*
