this game is, now, a very solid AAA MMO. It was just the launch that pissed off everyone. What's funny is people -still- say it's horrible and grindy when I'm sure they don't play. The game really is not much of a grind. It is a lot of fun. I still play it.

when did you play last? the game turned the corner about a year ago, once pets/solo-dungeons were implemented is when the game finally found its legs.

Last time I played was during that Holiday of the summer or something, with the quests for the cake etc

Well going back into the game now, maybe I can get into the flow of my 39 sin. I have been avoiding him because of all the abilities they have and are not the easiest class to play. Maybe I should make a baby scout just to get back in the groove again, but I have been playing my 28 templar and having a blast.

i'm actually a return player. waiting for the F2P to come out whenever that is. I enjoyed it the first time I played it, but one of the people i grouped with daily got his account hacked so we pretty much gave up on playing AION then.

I'm also playing a templar yet again, although I did start a chanter as well for something different since the chanter was quite powerful when AION first came out. Can't wait to get the skill to pull people in.

I'm downloading it now. I have never tried it before but not because I have anything against the game I was just already playing a few other games when it released. Hopefully all of the positive things I've been hearing in the last few months are true. I played Lineage II for over 4 years so a grind doesn't scare me at all. The game has always interested me so I figure it's free so why not give it a go. I'll see ya all in game!

I only hope that Gameforge take stronger actions against botters and goldsellers than NCSoft, that was what killed the game for me... Anyway, i'm downloading it again, i loved the art style and the environments of the game, my lvl 36 spiritmaster is ready to come back to Elysea.

I loved the art style too,  left  (the other MMO) for good to play AION and had really high hopes at first. it really wasnt the levling grind that drove me away , it really wasnt that bad, the reasons I quit were:

    - The Post-Level cap grind

    - The retarded faction imbalance (I chose Asmodean, on my server near the end nobody even bothered to try to hold forts)

    - The retard gear/class imbalances in a PvP game (never really did get the gear-centric PvP model, it really puts people without endless playtime at a severe disadvantage that skill simply does not bridge, this game is probably the worst I have ever played in terms of having to fight adversaries who can AFK and auto-attack kill you)

    - PVE was too easy  - yeah I know its a PvP centric game, but the PVE was literally tank and spank .,. every single .. encounter.

    - (Probably biggest) RNG / Crafting .  I knew hardcore EQ crafters who gave up gaming for good over AIONs masochistic crafting system, maybe fun for some, me I would rather poke myself in the eye with a hot needle repeatedly.

I would love to find a reason to come back ... not sure anything would convince me I could easy become a productive part of the game again without it becoming a second full time job.

Didn't see any gold spam since GF took over. Saw some bots, but they weren't an issues, either. There were shitloads of exploiters though and GF is allowing them to exploits - at least reports with fraps included didn't  get anybody banned.

    LFG!
