DUST 514: DUST514 Playable at EVE Fanfest This Month

DUST 514 will be playable at EVE Fanfest later this month, CCP announced today. The event takes place March 22-24 in Reykjavik. So if you've got a ticket to Iceland for the annual festival, then you can book some time with the game. Set in the EVE Online universe and running on the same server, DUST 514 is coming to the PlayStation 3.
CCP's CEO Hilmar Pétursson weighed in “DUST 514 has everything you could want in a shooter: thrilling gameplay, spectacular graphics and an incredible strategic depth that comes from sharing the living universe of EVE Online," he said in a release.
The closed private beta began last December, and this will mark the game's first global hands-on demo.

All businesses are influenced purely by money, if they weren't they'd fail very quickly.
it's definately exciting to see how this whole thing will work out. melding an mmo like Eve with a fps that is both a stand alone game and connected is just brilliant...IF they can deliver. good to see there are companies willing to brake the mold. i mean "on the world" first person interaction is pretty much the ONLY thing EvE is missing. if this works out it will be HUGE.
not to mentio you can be playing EvE on your comp, while at the same time fighting in Dust on your PS3!...just brilliant.

Some people just cant see the bigger picture. That fps on a console isnt as horible as people think. just takes some time to adjust.
reason they release dust on the PS3 (exclusivly) is that xbox and wii sucks, and the playstation has a very very big playerbase. the playerbase wich will join the fight = more money for ccp
DUST 514 will no require a sub, and will be completely free to download and play.

Microsoft decided to play hardball with xbox live on certain restrictions to the service and CCP just flipped them the finger saying that was unacceptable. As usual, some idiot at Microsoft should be given the old heave ho. Hence it will be on the PS3. At least someone at SOE was on the ball.
Not sure if I will actually lay out cash for a ps3 even though I think this game will be a hit.
if they really considered themselves gamers they would have atleast 1 console type.

Like someone said above, CCP looked into xbox sales but Microsoft has a big chip on its shoulder and wants way too much money.
for your information i own evrything exept for the latest handhelds becauses its too much bullshit too keep buying new ones evrytime they decided to ad 1 little feature, and my pc is a beastie. but apart from battlefield i buy my fps on ps3 because my friends hang out there. wich is alot more fun then going solo.
and @ talonsin : PS3 hardware > xbox 360, but xbox's are cheaper to get. hence the sales.
I havent bought anything from Sony since NGE. Oh and they bought out PoxNora and StarChamber. Then killed those games too. Call me biased. Looks like no Dust for me.
Sony have nothing to do with DUST 514 except for the fact that it is a PS3 exclusive for the time being.
CCP have full control over everything.

Don't worry we're getting PlanetSide 2 and can forget about this silly shooter, along with all the rest of the console FPS gamers who hop to the next shooter after two months.
Dust is going to work because one simple reason. Eve online works and there are enough people in eve that make 10 or 20 or 100 dollars in ingame money every day or week. If dust is going to give you an edge they will spend on it, whatever it takes. There is going to so much competition to be the best group of dust players because for the first time there are going to be real demand for the best. And unlimited rescources and wealth as in eve online for the best. It is all about presistence and if that is not you kind of thing you still got a decent shooter atleast.
