Well, I wasted some money on Amalur and I didn't like that game. I don't think I've bought a Bioware single player game after Dragonage, and that was due to the continuous pushing of DLC. To this day I haven't played DA2 and I may end up skipping ME3 for the same reason.
I don't mind the DLCs. I just need to feel that I got my money's worth when buying them. In the case of DA I felt I got suckered and thus I've been avoiding Bioware products ever since, waiting for the full complete game, which is usually the year edition. This is how I buy Bethesda products btw.
The trick is to wait a year or 2 until they release a pack with all the content in for a lot less money. It always happens so if you can wait there is no problem with that. But I agree, they are charging huge sums for DLCs like that, you pay enough for a full expansion to get some small add-ons which they used the original budget to make while they worked on the game.

Thats becouse for years now i see people comming here WHINE and CRY about games while they could knew it was long before release a well known fact it prolly fail or first episode failed and they all still go for next expisode. Bioware have proofed lately its going downhill.
So spent 60 bucks on games you know it can be fail is your own fault you wasted money on such products.

I don't give **** about user reviews. There is noway the game deserves 2.3. Fuck users, read critic reviews
So you are saying it deserves a 93?
Yes because if you don't agree with deflated reviews you obviously agree with inflated reviews..... /sigh
No but he just said he agrees with the critic's reviews, what I am implying is that perhaps he should take both with a grain of salt. He himself stated that users reviews are worthless and that only critic's reviews have any value, yet when I see those scores being so very different I think to myself that tells me something.
Probably that its somewhere inbetween.
I've rarely ever seen someone give a game a 100... yet sure enough there is someone who did for this game. Even though you can beat it THIS fast? That itself should hurt its score.
Let me add a lot of the Critic's reviews are VERY short or generic, they dont' even discuss the game itself. Terrible reviews.
For instance, one guy gave it a 90... then his words to back it up? "WoW, what a game!"
Yet the "Critics" reviews are all glowing and wonderful.
hmmm.
Strange?
I don't give a fuck about user reviews. There is no fuckin way the game deserves 2.3. Fuck users, read critic reviews
So you are saying it deserves a 9.3?
I don't know if it deserves 9.3. Probably not. I still haven't played it. But 2.3 is just ridiculous.
Heh.
I'm sure all of the mainstream gaming media will rate it in the 90's just like every other big title with tons of marketing cash so what's the problem? Just go buy it.
I've already bought it. I am getting it on Friday cause that's the official EU release.
There is no way I am not going to play the last game in one of the most fun series. I played the demo and I loved it. Yet so many people hated the demo. When it comes to a game series which I have played and I like, I don't read any reviews be it critic or user reviews. It's my prior experience with the developer/game that matters. Nothing else.

I am not impressed.
I am more inclined to trust the critic reviews as all other ME games got a 90+ score. I just can't believe that the game merits a 2.3
But you're right there are a lot of critic reviews which are worthless. The only website I read for game reviews is gamespot cause they seem less biased.

Well, if THAT many people are negative, there is some truth in it. And when you read the comments of people (I actually bothered reading them), a lot of them are well written posts! The main negative critique is bland and horrible story, lot less choices in dialogue, terrible ending and tremendous amounts of bugs with importing character data from ME2. And to top it off, the Day 1 DLC pack!

Exactly, look at the user reviews, see how nice worded, logically laid out their arguements are...
Then go to the critics reviews.
"Mass Effect 3 is the first contender for game of the year 2012. BioWare once again delivers a masterpiece."
This tell us nothing, and in fact is very generic, you could say its even recycled, I bet they said the samething about Dragon age 2 only replace it with 2011. They are PAID to write reviews like this? This is their job? Really?
Here's PC gamers
"The end of the series is a mixed bag. Satisfying in some ways, nonsensical in others, and ultimately too simple. But the sheer scale of the adventure it's ending – and the music, which is gorgeous throughout – gives it an emotional impact that goes beyond its plot payload. "
Ok now after reading this I'm thinking oh what did they give it? Like a 78? 83 maybe? Nope. A 93. Yeah, THAT review is a 93? wat?
actually my experience has been the opposite. ive been hearing the bitching, reading the flames on Metacritic, and was a little nervous after playing the sketchy demo. but the game looks amazing (significantly better than ME2), combat is hella smooth, and the plot, while predictable, isnt bad at all.
im glad i bought it! this is coming from a huge skeptic.
One of my favorite games of all time is Mass Effect. However Mass Effect 2 ticked me off in several areas I wont bother going into here. I'll just say I liked the first game far better.
But I've been getting the overwhelming vibe Bioware is just plummiting downhill over the last few years. I've been avoiding most of their games, which once upon a time I wouldn't dream of doing. Most would disagree but I noticed it first with ME2, then there was the DA2 dibacle (I didnt even like DA1 all that much), Swtor which I was not overly impressed with, and now this.
Which is why I didn't even plan on buying ME3. And thats saying something when its from a fan who holds ME1 as one of the greatest games of all time.
Im not surprised the game is lacking. I somehow suspected it would be. Not surprised at all.
I guess I'm glad I decided to save my money. Too bad I really liked the first two.
i was gonna pass on ME3 myself after playing the demo. but the game is actually pretty sick. it's an improved ME2, albeit with less story "options". it's really easy to buy into all the mass raging right now, but i think it's the same 50 or so haters posting on multiple accounts. if you loved ME2, you will like ME3 as much if not more.
while BW has been going downhill, trying to appease the masses and EA, ME3 is probably the last solid product we'll get from them.
What's more intresting is just like some other games, defenders are giving it 10's because of low scores and don't have much to say as to why they are giving it a 10. It's very odd.
I might get banned for this. - Rizel Star.

my reason for buying Me 3 is for closure THAT"S ALL. I have only pre-order 3 since I started gaming and ME 3 was one of them.
At the end of the day, you gotta go with your own guts and stop letting other people make decisions for you. if you can type, that probably means you are at least 10 years old, so use your brain and stop being sheeps.
edit: I will be getting my copy in a day or 2 and its no big deal. The only thing that could cause me to be pissed at the game is IF I don't get the pleasure of killing TIM, I suspect that might be the case though, he is too important and interesting of a character to kill off. Even without killing TIM, it's just 60 bucks, no big deal, I don't spend that much on games anyways.
Well, if THAT many people are negative, there is some truth in it.
in the same vein, if every professional review has been positive, there is some truth in it. probably considerably moreso, compared to the "reviews" put up by flamers on Metacritic.

Please don't defend the professional reviewers, let their reviews speak for themselves... which they are all, to a one, terrible.
Read them, go ahead, now ask yourself after having read them, did it tell you anything, at all, about the game?
No?
Oh and the one review that does is mostly negative, yet it still gets a 93 review score... when you ask random people who read the paragraph attached to the score what they THINK the number score attached to that paragraph would be most of them are going to say FAR less than a 93.
It really makes no sense at all...
Lets all judge reviews by their CONTENT not by whos fancy name is attached to what 4 words. "Wow what a game!"
