ripper actually makes a pretty good diablo-like game look so boring.

Looks like an interesting spin off. Considering that Torchlight is too bright, this is closer to the dark theme. I suppose the success or failure will be entirely up to the way it is monetised.

Still, the most impressive spin off at this point remains Lineage Eternal, if one can judge by videos alone.

I'm always amazed at RipperX's voice. It doesn't seem real. If the guy talks like that all the time he must seem like the most patronizing person on the planet.

I signed up for beta for this so long ago I dont even remember it. I'd like to try it out.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

I've been in PoE closed beta since it started, and if youre a huge fan of the good old D2, this is the fresh breath you've been waiting for.

While it builds on the successful formulae of D2 , it brings a whole bunch of new ideas like:

-currency having a value of its own -the orbs you use for trading are also used to customise your equpment in many various ways

-skill-gems much like in Final Fantasy 7 - you have to find your own skills, equip them and  level them up along with your character, there are endless combiantions between skill-gems and support-gems

-while other games have skill-trees, PoE has a skill-forest :D Every class has access to the same passive skills, but they start out on different locations on what looks like a huge spider-web with passive skill (the active skills are all equipped seperately in form of skill-gems)

What Grinding Gear Games (GGG) lacks in resources and finances they make up in dedication and actually having an idea of what they want the final game to look like.

Its not an advertising beta like many games have nowadays. There have been huge changes over the patches, MANY more to come, the whole Act Three is still missing, but the core of the game is there and its just that awesome (even if that sounds fanboyish^^).

And then its also 100% free,  all the transactions will be 100% cosmetical, no exp potions and all that crap you think of when hearing "F2P", the only in-game advantage you'll be able to purchase will be extra stash space, the default one NOT being a small one.

I must note that it is not an mmorpg, its an Online Action Role Playing Game, the gameplay is largely like D2 with parties joining instances together, except theres no game lobby, and a bigger number of players can meet in towns.

    Cheers,

    nermind

Have to keep an eye on this game if D3 does not pan out.

Thanks a lot for this video. I didn´t know about the leagues, it sounds very interesting - i.e. Attrition league for the 24/7 gamers, where the characters with smallest levels will be deleted regularily.

    Overall interested in this game.

Comparing the two, this game has more potential than D3 if you're a D2 fan. They need to improve some things but they have a good start.

I can never watch a RipperX video. Dude's voice reminds me of William Shatner...on valium. All I want to do is turn it off and go to sleep.

Game looks pretty cool from what I've seen in other vids though.

I have to admit this game is very impressive. A lot of cool ideas and gorgeous graphics.

Edit. I actually think he improved a lot. this vid was very good imo.
