Well I had to give my thread a good title, so sue me image.

My gf just bought me the Total Experience as she heard me muttering about it. So I was playing Tuesday night and I started on Naritus as I have heard Erillion and Elnator saying it's a good server.

The load was medium (quite a few other servers were heavy, I was happy to see) so I was quite pleased. I went through the beginnings where you start out in the Empires ship. I have to say it was just damned fun. I changed all the settings and bumped everything basically up to full and the game just looks phantastic. I also found out how to change resolution to 1280x1024 as my monitor is displeased with me if I use any other. So I logged back in and ran to the back of the first part inside the Empirical ship and made my way to Tatooine.

The place was packed! I stopped counting light blue blips at about 30 right in the immediate area of where you start. There were a ton helpers answering questions and stuff, someone even tried to give me money and items to start out! I of course refused because I am a purist and a stubborn one at that. I enjoy  making and earning everything myself, that's my magic. So I played through the tutorial which is much like the Dragon tutorial in Horizons in many ways. They lead you through different quests to get you used to the game. SWG really hit the tutorial on the head, just as in Horizons dragon tutorial. It is so fun for me hehe I love having something to do and it was hella fun. Although this one dude, one of the marksmanship trainers, makes you kill like 35 Tusken Zealots in 3 different sittings lol I think he needed to take his medication.

I got my BARC speeder after the 3rd time I logged in, it rewls lol. It looks kewl and its hella fast. At first I just sped around in town as if I was racing through the trees in Return of the Jedi. LOL I know I'm a cheeseball, but it was fun.

So since I am done the first tutorial and now get to start out on my own I have some questions for you guys.

I wanna be a Jedi, anyone who grew up with Star Wars I would assume wanted to be a Jedi at one time or another (in this game I mean, not in real life lol).

1)I have heard so much about how Jedi's ruin the game and that. Should I even bother being a Jedi? I guess I don't even have to worry about that for a while?

2)Someone in another thread said you could have a star destroyer if you were on empire side. Is this true?

3) I want to do the space parts too, should I make my way to the rebel space ship dude already? Or should I start doing missions and stuff first? The tutorial lady (Thyella or something she was called) says I can head off to see the Rebel space ship guy in Mos Espa. If I want to do space stuff, should I start right away?

4) When do people get to go to Kashyyk?

5) What level will I want to look for a good guild?

Thanks in Advance for your intelligible replies. I had tremendous fun in the tutorial, I'd really like to extend that type of experience throughout the entire game with some good advice. image

I wouldn't worry about Jedi till you really learn your way around the game. Personally I never intend to truely become a jedi though I may unlock just to get the extra character slot and go up the healing tree since it's better than medic 0220 :)

No, you can't have a star destroyer *yet* and once they are in I suspect they'll be something it takes quite a few folks to run (possibly a PA ship, who knows how they plan to implement them).

You can start space anytime you feel like it :) I recommend neutral at first though.

You can go to Kashyyk as soon as you have your starter ship but I'd hold off on heading there till you get at least 1 elite combat profession unlocked (not mastered, just unlocked)

You can start looking for a good PA anytime you wish. Personally I think they make the game a heck of a lot more fun if you get in a good one.

    Hi Anarchy ,

another Anarch.. err... Naritist ! YEAH !!!!! HOOT !!!   Send me a /tell to Novarider or Delos when I am online, so we can get you a starter package like a free ship etc. Whats your in game name ?

About earning everything yourself .... Here is my logic ... no one of the people that want to give you things for free need it refunded. The only "task" you have to do is to give another new player the same starter package when YOU can afford it. That way an avalanche of helpers and general good feeling in the community spreads on the server as people get used to help and accept help.

The force sensitive quests can be fun, as is getting glowly. So I would do that without grinding. Reward will be a free second character, so thats definitily worth it. I personally dont want to become Jedi beyond that for roleplaying reasons. If you DO play a Jedi as it should be played (NOT cretin-duelling in Theed main square) and dont fall into the grind trap (so take some 1-2 years to become Jedi instead of 6 months) you CAN have fun. Wander around, help  people with words and deeds ... and sometimes with the glowstick when necessary. Or be a menancing Dark One commanding his forces in battle. The people who ruin the game are those that run around 24/7 with lightsaber out and yelling  DUDE I PWNED U !

2)Someone in another thread said you could have a star destroyer if you were on empire side. Is this true?

Not yet. There are rumours that capitol ships will be in game. Amongst that will be a mission where you command a SD, but you dont own it or can control it beyond that mission. The preview movie was shown at a fanfest.

    3) I want to do the space parts too, should I make my way to the rebel space ship dude already? Or should I start doing missions and stuff first? You can start right away. Within 10 min you will be in game with a free starter ship. If you need a new large ship, go to Coronet on Corellia, open map, look for player vendors, ships, Aratech Space. Buy some stuff .. I tip it back so you get it for free. And even if you dont want it for free, you will hardly find lower prices. You can also check the red bazaar terminals (check player vendor search, not only bazaar itself).

Space is also the best money maker. Kill tier 1 and 2 enemies. You get loot. You can sell it to the NPC chassis dealer at any large starport. At least 100 k profit per hour is typical.

    4) When do people get to go to Kashyyk?

I would say you can try it from combat level 40 on up.

    5) What level will I want to look for a good guild?

Level 1 :-)   There are many guilds that will be happy to have you in their ranks. Ask around. Check out the  guild descriptions on Naritus forum in SWG forum on official SWG homepage (link from log in screen). There is a sticky post about Naritus guilds and player cities on top.

I read this thread and decided to start a character on Naritus today.  So far I am 2 bars into carbines and 1 into ranged support.  I'm hoping to become either a caribineer or a bounty hunter.  Any way, post your characters names here and I will add them to my friend list.  Thanksimage

(BTW, I played SWG at release till December of 04 so I'm re-learning a lot of things and figuring out many new things that were never in game before.  I am having a lot of fun with the CU and I think it has only improved the game.  The tutorial is also superior to the one they gave us at release!)

    Welcome to Naritus !

You can reach me as Novarider or Delos (playing at European times). Noobia is a good name to start if you play at US times.

Give me a ring if you want a free starter package or some advice or company. YOu can go to Lok, shuttle to the city of LoknLoad, go 30 m south from the shuttleport into the mall. There are Aratech and Cybot Galactica vendors - buy something e.g. vehicles, droids, house etc and I tip back the money if you send me a mail with your Naritus name. Same goes for Aratech Space (go to coronet, open map, vendors, space, Aratech Space vendor .. create waypoint .. its in the HUUUGE South Coronet Mall in the back room).

Nice pics.  Are you going to through the marksman skill tree?  If you are which type of blaster are you using? I'm using carbines right now and my 4th box is nearly done.

I'm doing rifles myself. I am grinding space missions while my harvesters work so I can do a bunch of crafting. I wanna be a Shipwright and make me a X-wing! I hope image

Altough i find you and your posts revolting anarchyart, im going to give you a friendly piece of advice. Quit swg while youre ahed. Dont pay SOE another dime as you will regret it later on. Being an avid star wars fan I played swg for 5 months and after seeing absolutely no progress within the game i decided to give up.

Swg lacks ANY content save for a 3-4 non instanced and heavily camped points of interest. Other then that the only things that you can do is either decorate your house, check your harvesters or do generic "go to waypoint kill and return" missions. And dont even try to become a jedi, the grind will drive you insane after a couple of hours.

    My 2 cents

You don't know me, friend. Although it is duly noted, I think you know what you can do with your advice.
