Sony Online Entertainment has announced that Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures has now scored over ten million registered players. The kid- and family-friendly MMO is based on the Clone Wars Adventures cartoon series.

To celebrate, SOE will be awarding the Gold Death Watch armor to all registered players.

Lastly, Darth Maul will be entering into SWCWA beginning March 15th in "three different ways" according to the dev team.

Find out more on the Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures site.

Look at that... Six times the population of SWTOR with fifty times less budget. I'd say congratulations are in order.

Do you read at a 3rd grade level?  There's been 10 million people who have registered, not currently playing, not paying anything, not subscribing.  For it's entire lifespan, 10 million people have signed up on their website.  It's a meaningless number and this 'game' is atrocious even compared to TOR.

I kinda like it. The mini games are fun enough to pass some time :)

The space combat in it is just as good as TORs.

    lololololoololol.

Well, my little boy loves it so I'm not surprised. You guys do realise this is a kiddie game right? Aim the missiles elsewhere.

    There is NO miracle patch.

95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch.

    Hope is not a stategy.

Actually, it's better. At least it has voice overs with some bit of story behind each mission.

Pretty funny EAware copied it to the point of infringement ( right down to the very same controls ), but left out the voice and story bits. lol

No different than EAware claiming 1.7 million "active subscribers" by counting cancelled accounts that still have time on them.

Registered users and actual paying customers are 2 different things.......Also 10 million registered users isn't the pop....In reality they are lucky if its 1/20th of that.....Alot of these sites use their registered users number because they know that it will attract some people just by that number alone.....A high percentage of people register for a game and some never even play it....The vast majority tries it and moves on to something else very shortly.

It's just for kids. Lucas shouldn't write-off Sony in the future though.

I'll be careful to avoid making comments in jest here ever again. Thank you for the attempted educational moment, regardless.

I glad to see that my fellow gamers aren't taken in by marketing nonsense like this.

  • someforumguysomeforumguy Member RarePosts: 4,088

You have to register before you can discover if you even like the game or not. This makes that amount meaningless to determine the game's popularity. Their marketing department obviously knowns this.

Releasing these numbers anyway to somehow show how incredibly popular Clone Wars is , is nothing but insulting the intelligence of potential customers. Sometimes I really hate marketing departments.

Haha! Don't they realise most of those registered users only registered to get the free Station Cash they give when you register with your account?
