Its just something else to do in an mmo. I can see where you're coming from. But honestly, I just look at it as more choices to spend your time playing. Whether I get into it or not, doesn't really matter. I rarely run flashpoints, so when they add lfg and more flashpoints, I don't feel that it is time/resources ill spent. Its just more stuff that wasn't there before that I now have the option of checking out. Its just how it goes.
I spent the first year of WoW not doing any raiding. Second year I was all about it. Third year, I exclusively pvp'ed. Its all just stuff that adds layers to a game that people can do when the mood strikes them. Legacy system is no different. Same with space missions and crew skills, companion management.
I sit on a man's back, choking him and making him carry me, and yet assure myself and others that I am very sorry for him and wish to ease his lot by all possible means - except by getting off his back.
Exactly. What, we have a bunch of MMO neophytes around here. "Oh noes, it took them a whole 4 months to add this feature when I wanted it 4 months ago!"
And?
There are MMOs out there with less features that have been out for 10 years. Just because your pet feature isn't there this very instant doesn't make the game a failure. Compare any MMO at launch to 6 months, 12 months, 2 years later and you'll see that none of them, NONE OF THEM, had everything from day 1.
"
So according to your logic, companies should launch products with ten year old feature sets and expect customers to suck it up.
So much for the advancemement of the human race.
The reasoning behind the fanbois is just amazing
But you have to fight back with facts so lets go for Prime Time server facts
as of 10:34 PM we have 2 V Hvy, 9 hvy, and 14 light so 3 more light servers then V hvy and hvy combined, yup game is growing by leaps and bounds
I always find it amusing folks wish to throw labels like 'fanbois' because someone doesn't agree with them and enjoy something they don't. In the same light you could be described as a 'hater' as you have went out of your way time and again to post stuff against the game including this same argument you have used over and over. You don't like the game. Folks get it already. What is your point? What are you hoping to achieve with your endless whining? You're starting to sound like the five year old that his tricycle stolen by the neighborhood bully.
Elikal, they stated the same sex romance will be implemented later this year. It is obviously not something you can do overnight due to the voice overs so that should have been expected.
Someone asked about guild housing and that is coming as well but not as of this patch. There will be guild ships with the usual perks you are accustomed to with guilds.
I for one welcome the patch, I don't get what all the whining is about, I enjoy playing this game more than any of the past near dozen or so MMORPGs that came out since WoW.
You know whats funny.. they allow trials to bring on new players, but the trial is also available only from people in the eligible countries list. This, while in the meantime there are maybe thousand or millions other in the red list whom may play the game but they cant. Go figure.
Trial (2 weeks) is a perfect amount of time to play this game and move along;)
..up to level 15. Which is not a lot, unless you just run your class missions. On the other hand, I bought and subbed based on two beta weekends, where I didn't get much past 15 either.
to be honest content locust ate it earlier than 2 weeks - just sayin'
No doubt. However, the point I was answering was that in 2 weeks, getting up to level 15, you can decide if you want to buy the game at a discount, or not. I don't think you get that far along the planets and story line in 15 levels. MOst o fthe side missions are very standard fetch and kill missions, which don't make TOR shine. And honestly, BW is actually shooting themselves in the foot with this a bit, as you don't get your sprint skill until that level and - oh, my gawd - the running around DK drags on a fair bit.
Also, I would have expected most of the locusts to have already bought the game and move on by now. The trial is more - IMO - for casual and on-the-fence people. Without playing two beta weekends, I wouldn't have bought the game at all.
With out trying to sound like to much of a fanboy this game is by far the mmo i have been waiting for . I am really glad to have this update it is going to allow a lot of customization for the player in all aspects.
From allowing the differant races to differant classes and the use of legacy abilities cross classing. All the way down to the UI this is the patch I was waiting for and as long as this game remains online i will be a constant player. I am tried of killing trolls or goblins. Nothing is better then force choking a mob to death. This game is not WOW it is Starwars which is all the more reason for me to play. so all you WOWboys go back to your games let the big boys play a game with out the drama.
Swtor is the first game after wow that holds not throne in my eyes. :-) Still love a lot wow, followed by Rift.
So far im very very happy with swtor and actually I do not miss anything particularly, the only thing I welcome a lot in this patch is possibility to resize ui.
The early game of TOR is pretty great. I stopped playing when I got to 50 and slammed into the massive gear wall in PvP, then breezed through an endgame raid with greens and blues from leveling. I did okay in PvP, I knew I had small numbers and I took actions to accomodate that, but it was still kind of a fuckin' nightmare.
It's endgame was awful. It's PvP gearing 'system' is an -absolute joke-, to the tune of 'I made a 61-page thread about how bad this is'. Seriously! I'd link it but it's kinda beating a dead horse, and now they have a whole new gearing system they're gonna use, which is... -really- nice, to my mind.
I might go back for 1.2, just to PvP and get some real gear. Maybe other returnees will be enough to do some operations with. We'll see. I haven't entirely decided, but the changes they made to the PvP gearing alone is enough to make me wanna try it again.
I wonder how much it sucks working for a "fan" site that is so anti-everything. If the news in the update is not appealing to you why not just move on?
If the negativity regarding the update is not appealing to you, then why not just move on?
your not wrong, you could give people on this site gold shitting puppies and they would still cry and complain that its the wrong color, dont ever look to this site for real content or a forum that has anything important to say, its just Trolls and haters.
You people crack me up! It's too much like WoW, It's not enough like WoW.. All there is is PvP, there is no PvP.... I'm quitting because I only saw half of whats planned and am making an instant assumption...
People keep saying there is a decline in subscriptions.... I'd like to know where! Our server is more abundant than ever. Ilum fights are MUCH more frequent, ALOT fewer Huttballs. Do you people actually play the game or just troll forums and get the worst out of what people say? What sad depressing lives you must live.

I'm sorry, but liking SWTOR is forbidden here. I too love SWTOR and I feel that it is the best game on the market right now. I am tired of the sword play fantasy genre and SWTOR is Star Wars...that's enough for me. TSW is the only other mmo that I am interested in since it doesn't have the same old boring junk in it. But...if SWTOR had a dodge button, it would revolutionize mmo's forever!!!
The game needs something more. Its a story based game, or was until a week or two after you hit 50 then that was over with. MY solution would be PvP.
Right now the game doesn't have any real PvP. Its got pointless PvP. Look I killed you, oh darn you killed me pointless sutff and instanced "games" are there sure but thats nothing but a grind in disguise.
It need a little taste of RvR. Not full on DAoC RvR. Thats impossible, they would have to remake the whole thing. But a planet where the control points in a persistant zone are controllable and defendable. A fort or base of sorts where you can attack, capture and here is the kicker, have you guild claim! How cool to have a place your guild owns with your own banner flying above it. People would fight for that. People would jump at the chance to capture one any chance they could.
Best part? Its not story driven its player driven. The updates neede to keep it fresh could be small. A tweek here, a new addon here nothing big usually. No need for a new flashpoint or story line for 30 classes. Just need to make sure the persistant planet or planets are big enough. The initial investment would be the biggest part.
But hey they own the company let them do what they want. I am still playing till my account goes black on the 23rd I think.
Did they ever put the "match color to chest piece" thingy back in, or some equivalent? I was all happy that I wouldn't have to go around in multi-colored gear and then they took it out.
I think if anything i'm gonna un-sub this forum, i'm sick of all the whiny little girls in here bashing everything ever released, all the WOW *itches who need to pull thier wands out of thier *%$es and finally get the point that MMo's are MMo's, grow up girls, its cookie cutter, all of it, just some cookies taste better than others, and SWTOR is one of the better in a long time. OH i bet it goes F2p...duh you jacka**ses, its about money, not you!

really really really want to like this game, but it sucks.
moving UI element, guild banks lol things like this should have been there at launch.
I look at that video, and I wonder just when Star Wars turned into generic shit. It's depressing.

SWTOR, still a better end game than Mass Effect 3's.
Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising everytime we fall.
SWTORS endgame is better than Mass Effect 3's. Thats not saying much. Question: Do MMO's even have an endgame?
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Wow, so bad trading makes you go away from game? This is guess one of the most stupid arguments why would somebody stop playing any game.
I don't know about that.
