So I guess that means public beta will not be on the March 23-25 weekend... Meaning it will be on the 30-01 weekend (or perhaps this weekend, 16-18, but very doubtful. I was really looking forward to play during my Spring Break (assuming I get into the beta) =( Oh well
I hope to see the Sylvari and Asura.

I don't see any reason why they can't have press and players at the same time... they are supposed to be testing WvW after all

This is not a public beta test, but another closed media event similar to last month.

When do Beta Weekend Events (BWEs) start, and how many will there be?
The first BWE is currently planned for late April, and we expect to have one every month or so. The schedule is subject to change and will be confirmed at a later date. Currently, we do not know how many of these events we will have. (source)
There is a public beta event at the end of March, it's been confirmed.
EDIT: Perhaps GuildwarsInsider got it wrong? Maybe it is not a media event and someone misread the email? It could be the public closed beta, although, that's being incredibly optomistic =P
Here's a quote from Guild Wars 2 twitter confirming that the beta sign up was indeed for the closed beta at the end of March:
@powerdru We had a 48-hour period during which you could apply to be in the next closed beta event, happening at the end of March. ^RB

Except there's already hundreds of videos showing the features already in the game. So no, it's nothing like Warhammer Online, because at least us informed individuals actually know what to expect.
this, either way I cant wait to see what else is added vrs last beta event.
