My old install wouldn't connect, but I went to the website, and it made me download the game again which is fine, but at first it couldn't get past my firewall so I had to manually add Everquest as an exception. anyway good luck.
after i run the setup.exe it puts an EQ shortcut on my desktop. when i double click it it runs for a few minutes then some launchpad screen appears for a few minutes then it shows an soe screen for a few minutes then on the screen a message pops up that says It's Not Your Fault...soe is having trouble with their servers......I wonder if it is just me or is there actually serverside problems...any idea how to get around this?
Just a update. I`m haveing to re-download the game. Odd that I have to do this but at least I`ll be able to log on again. It`ll put another EQ icon on your desktop. Just use the new one.

I'm not getting that when using my launcher so you may want to check SOE's forum.
