In an interview with START, comic artist extraordinaire Todd McFarlane, who is providing art design forCopernicus, nonchalantly dropped news that the studio is aiming to release Project Copernicus "later in the year." He doesn't expound any further on when exactly we can expect to get our hands on the game, but with any luck we'll be getting some more details before long, so stay tuned folks.
What do you think? Personally I didn't quite like Amalur, but maybe the MMO will be more interesting. It could be a sleeper hit, without no hype until just a few months before release.

I can't get excited about it. They've done nothing to convince me it'll be anything different other than the typical vague promises. I really don't get the impression that they have any more of a clue than all the others that we've seen production from.
Once upon a time....
I would like to know more about the overall "vision" for this game. I know Curt played EQ1 and EQ2 when it first came out, but he also played a lot of wow. I'm very curious to see if he makes this more of the same or goes back to his EQ1 roots. You can't deny that the man has a passion for gaming and has surrounded himself with some talent (McFarlane Salvatore).
I was also let down by Reckoning, but I'll keep an eye on copernicus.
Curt has been quoted saying he he thinks WoW > EQ1.
This game appears to be as generic a WoW clone as they come. With all the competition out now I am willing to bet this game bombs hard. And you know what? It deserves to bomb if its the generic WoW clone I suspect it will be.
Man that is a real bummer. I wasn't getting my hopes up or holding my breath, but if it's another clone I probably won't even buy it. I played with his shammy in EQ2 for a bit and a branch of his company is located pretty close to my hometown, so it would be somethig I would love to throw money at, but another WOW clone... I just can't do it again.
Well, if they truly want to get along with a WoW clone they are surely going to "bomb". 2012 is harboring the next generation of MMOs and we certainly aren't going back to that kind of titles. Also, they have been touting the revolutionary word in the past coupled with this project...It would be ridiculous if it proved to be a mere clone.

If it's like KoA I have to say no thanks.
I also noticed he said he has been very successful taking something very poplular already and slightly tweaking it in a new way it seemed like that may also be a theme for the mmo as well. That mentality in game developement is kinda of a big studio controlled game evolution point of veiw. I am pretty sure people who feel like there is a lot of wow clones out there would be turned off by a comment like his.

Damn this game had some really serious design flaws especially considering lack of any difficulty since mid-game + ultra generic and boring lore and 'feeling'
