I don't drink so I'll replace the beer with something containing caffeine and add my headset for all those guild laughs
I've still got one of these in my wardrobe, should do the trick
Something Like this I believe
might upgrade something later but I believe that it will handle gw 2 just fine !
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5 3.3 Ghz
VIDEO: GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1024 MB, GDDR5
HDD: 1 TB
MEMORY: 16GB 16 Mhz DDR3
OS: Microsoft® Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit Edition)
OP your system is helluva beast compared to mine but im sure i can run GW2 on ultra settings because ive been playing almost every game out there on ultra with my crappy intel i5 750 @ 2.67ghz, 8gb ram, radeon hd 6950 1gb, motherboard gygabyte micro GA-P55m-ud2 (my huge video card barely fits in there, about the same length lol), coolermaster extreme crappy case that needs at least 2 more fans and an almost dead 1tb hard drive kind of malfunctioning making my pc damn slower.
EDIT: i have to remove the video card to add / remove ram LOL, i find that funny.
Good memories seeing that cpu....
This is what I currently have:
Motherboard: EVGA P55 FTW 200 SLI
CPU: Intel Core i7-K875 Lynnfield 2.93GHz
GPU: EVGA GTX 580
Monitor: 46" Samsung LCD HDTV
Case: Antec 1200
PSU: Antec 750w
RAM: 8GB A-DATA Gaming Series DDR3 1600
HDD: Hitachi 1TB 7200
And this is what I'd like to have before Guild Wars 2 launches:
Motherboard: EVGA Z77, not sure of options yet.
CPU: Intel Core i7-???? Ivy Bridge
GPU: EVGA GTX 680
Monitor: 46" Samsung LCD HDTV
Case: Antec 1200
PSU: Antec 750w
RAM: 16GB of not sure yet
HDD: Hitachi 1TB 7200
Pretty standard overpriced rig for me! Already have it (built it shortly after SW:TOR released).
CPU: i7-2600k OC 4.0-4.5 GHZ
RAM: Corsair Vengeance - 16GB
System Drive: Crucial M4 128 SATA 6gb SSD
Game Drive: CRucial M4 128 SATA 6gb SSD
Storage: 2x WD Caviar Green 1.5 TB 7200rpm
Graphics: 2x PNY XLR8 GTX 580 Liquid Cooled + CPU Liquid Cooling (Both Overclocked)
Power: 1200w 80 PLUS Gold
Motherboard: MSI Z68A-GD55 (G3)
I'm not a hardcore gamer, my current computer is mediocre, it should be able to run GW2 at minimum settings. However, I'm getting a new computer next week to fully enjoy GW2. I want something similar to the OP's rig, with smaller HDD. I only need it for GW2.
I'll be buying a new rig as well and I just started looking into what I should get - Got a budget of ~$1000
Then there will be new graphics cards from Nvidia, the 670ti will be faster then a 580 at the cost of a 560ti
Add 16 GB of memmory and a 128 GB SSD, and you have a beast that will last for years. A system build with this will be around 1000 euros
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

a 8 month old pc,i think iam good with that for a while,
i dont plan do upgrade yet,
i may change videocard but the 570 is pretty decent,
~The only opinion that matters is your own.Everything else is just advice,~
If you are upgrading GPU i would suggest you wait for keplar to release in april or may... 7970 should go down in price as well as most other cards.. and another suggestion is to be patient and wait 1 month before release.. so if its september build your rig in august.. you will save a lot of money and plus the new ivy bridge pcu should release by then which will be much better than current cpu and cost the same
patience is a virtue
AMD phenomenah II 3,2 ghz x6 with Corsair H70 liguid cooling (will be overclocked if needed)
8 GB DD3 1800 mhz (Corsair)
Nvidia 480 GTX (ASUS)
4 raided Intel X-25 SSDs (raid 10) + about 5 TB more on regular drives
Corsair V2 950 W PSU
ASUS Crosshair IV MB
That's my current rig, it should do fine with GW2.
I built my rig for Final Fantasy XIV, and its more than good enough for GW2, but im thinking of getting the newest intel core i7
Hmm, I seen a USB mini fridge... I must have it.
Already have the other stuff.
Been awhile since i built my pc, dont remember all the speccy's
Motherboard : Something with a g43 in it i think
Video cards: 2- 6870's xfired
HD: 1 terrabyte 7200 rpm something or another
CPU: I2500k o/ced to 4.3
Ram: 8 gigs of....1600 something mhz. quizzy said it matched the cpu *shrugs*
Monitor: 55inch bigscreen ^_^
EDIT: Yes, i am proof any idiot can build a pc loool

Asus G74SX.
This laptop is crazy. It has 12gb of RAM for crying out loud, and the specs out do all but the SLI-configuration Alienware laptops (but I don't think those can honestly be called laptops, that's cheating considering their massive size).
The reason I had to have one of these is because not only are they fantastic performers, but the fans are really, really quiet. I have an old Dell with a GeForce 9800 in it and the single fan in that is noisier than the fans in this. I have no idea what's going on, there. I don't know what Asus did to keep this thing so cool (and it is often ice cold, even under pressure), but they achieved sexy results.
Considering that this thing is butch enough to take Unigine on high settings, it'll be able to handle Guild Wars 2 with ease as well.
Since getting it, I'm looking forward to GW2 more than ever.
the current rig is more the enougth.
i7 2600k @ 4.4GH
16GB DDR3 (1600)
120GB SSD
2x ATI 6970
+ raid 1/0 4 x 1.5TB WD Black
Don't see how people need these dual card setups and stuff, unless they are running multiple monitors
Not like you're going to need a really beast computer for GW2 unless you're doing something like WvsWvsW
Anyways.. not the best PC but
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1035T Processor (6 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Card name: AMD Radeon HD 7750
i7-950
12gb 1600mhz gskill
GTX 580
320 gb 7200 rpm
OHhhhhhh i'm praying for an invite i've been dreaming of this game hahah
EVGA FTW-3 MOBO X58
EVGA GTX 580
G.SKILL RIPJAW 12GB
INTEL I7 950
CORSAIR H70 CPU COOLER
CORSAIR 1200W 80+GOLD
I have a dual card because i have a nice monitor and a nice bigscreen =P
I also like the fact that when benchmarked, the two fans on the cards keep them uber cool.
