Why isn't Bloodline Champions more popular?

I have been playing this game for the past week, and let me tell you, it is awesome. I always read complaints about PvP being too gear based, luck based, or level based. In fact, I was one of those people complaining. Bloodline Champions is 100% skill based,; gear and level have basically no impact. So my question is, why isn't a game like BLC more popular?

Played it a few months ago, seemed like a pretty good game but I left for some reason I can't remember now but will check it out again sometime and see how it fares.

100% skill based so if you even lag for a sec you may have just lost the match.

It says "highly skill based" right there on their site.

Such a great game though, it needs alot more players!

Cause the Dota clones are more fun.

Also people like to be able to compensate their "lack of skill" through other means, such as time and/or money (=> gear etc.), which is perfectly valid of course.

I've tried it too, but somehow it wasn't my cup of tea, although I used to play LoL, which is similar (except that it's not 100% skill based). If I do want a skill based game I usually go for first person shooters.

I am actually going to check it out this week. I currently just play LoL, but looking foward to trying this out.

I personally tried it and just didn't like it very much. It got boring very quickly. While I can't say I was great at the game (takes playing it to be really great) I am confident enough I was easily far better then a large majority of the player base (sadly... *facepalm* I really don't get why this happens either, feels like no one even tries anymore) so i can't really say that 'taking skill' is what detracted it for me. I just felt... eh... unimpressed I guess.

haha this one is right but i also didnt like their payment model, it seemed too much premium stuff kept away from non-premium users. I am not sure if thats the case recently tho. (And the price was too high as i recall)

Not really, I mean if your going to get a champion account then ya you will pay(you get everything in the game and everything that will come out in the future). But a regular champion account is the best deal in my opinion. This game is just like LoL in the fact that everything you can buy is purely aesthetic, just like in league you can buy more champions from in game coin or money and they have all kinds of outfits and stuff nothing helps you ingame. The game has a way better UI then league, in-game tournaments all kinds of stuff.
