New Patch notes

Cool New Stuff

-In PvP situations, player level will be exposed when you target another player (just like monsters display their level). This should help those "fight or flight" decisions.

-Doubled the maximum number of characters you can type into all chat channels. We promise it won't go all "Barrens chat" on you, though.

-Increased difficulty from levels 1–15 on an experimental basis. Players will have less HP and return to baseline by level 20. That red bar at the top of your screen? Kinda important.

-Terron Treasure Trove Event: Added surprise boxes around the world (except for Island of Dawn). We'd tell you more, but then it wouldn't be a surprise, would it?

Bugs Squashed

Certain quest items were nonexistent due to continent restrictions, but now they're back. Quest gatherables and monsters will be back in Osgarath province for level 30–33 characters.

So for those that complained that 1-20 was too easy, well now it just got a whole lot more challenging !

    Great changes.

The level indicator for PvP is huge.  Should get bigger the higher level they are from you, heh.

The rise in difficulty is great to see.  Anything that gets people to actually use the fun parts of the combat system is good.  Plus, this gives me hope that they won't dumb down the game in other areas.

Just not worth my time anymore.

Pretty sure I've been hit by a mob all of 10 times so far on my slayer.  They can reduce my HP all they want but if they don't make the animations quicker, it won't make 1-20 any more difficult for non-cacti.

Talk about a pointless change. It wasn't easy cause of having high HPs. It's cause the mobs are slow as dirt and they take forever to kill unless you're a berserker. They should increase the speed of the game, not make players weaker.

True lower hp doesn't matter much when its so slow it takes no effort to dodge/block the attacks. However it does discourge people from playing it like a standard tab target mmorpg. Its not good but i say at least a step in the right direction? At least going toward making game harder than make it easier is a good sign XD If they do speed up monster that be perfect, and yaya treasure for all you explorer ^_^ watch it them explode and instant kill  lol =X

Honestly this is what I did the entire time on my archer lol. I stood there and just held left click while I watched tv for the first 10 levels or so.

It's more like they are facing the right direction but they thought that wasn't good enough, so they shot themselves in the foot to make the trip more challenging. They got the right idea but are going about it the wrong way.

Don't expect rolling changes in BETA, they are just doing minor tweaks based on player feedback, I made a thread a while back and Knoxxer stated that they have larger plans for 1-40 content and 1-20 in particular set for release, so we shall see what they add in.

TERA has an unstable learning curve it seems, 1-19 is piss easy to solo and then at 20 you hit BAMs which are such a huge gap compared to the normal mobs.

The same is said when you are introduced to your first hard mode dungeon at 48, akasha's lair, it's all piss easy dungeons then you try your first hardmode and it's going to be wipe after wipe.

The two most challenging endgame hardmodes are also on the ridiculous side(I like that though).

I could care less about the difficulty between 1-15,  for me that's about 3 hours of pve gaming.  Showing the level of a player on the targeting hud is a different matter,  bravo on that edition.

This is for levels ~15. The point is not to make you die more but to try more. They got it right. As Rez said it's so people can't tab target through.

Unless you die in like 3 hits then it wont make more of a difference other then increase down time which is a bad thing, not a good one.

Many people have been hinting at the idea of mini-BAMs on the IoD, would be nice to see it implemented, ones about half as difficult as normal ones, just as normal mobs walking around.

I'd like to see a full sized BAM between levels 12-18 added though, waiting until level 20 for an interesting mob kind of sucks.

True and they did say "experimental" so they will adjust accordingly I imagine. I will point out that in a video with a 38 Warrior group fighting a 36 BAM each hit that landed took about 1/4 if his health.

I don't see the change being for those that are sold on the game and try to move/dodge when attacks come in. Fans probably already know what to expect later on. I think this change is for those skeptical or new potential customers to show them what they should expect from TERA. When attacks come in and you can't block, get out of the way lol.
