Is Video Gaming or more importantly MMORPGs, going mainstream now? MTV just announced in their Celebrity lounge Planetwide Games will be the sponsor all the way till MTV music awards. Celebrities such as Jennifer love hewitt and Chris Judd were found enjoying the game RYL: Path of the Emperor.
The article can be found here http://www.gameshout.com/news/062005/article879.htm
Even better a picture of Shannon Elizabeth holding a RYL poster...simply amazing. http://www.senetent.com/gallery/albums/mtv/aaj.jpg

Hmm, too bad it's such a crappy game. I wonder how they get so much money...
MTV doesn't stand for Music Television, it stands for Marketing Television. Everything they do has a huge marketing campaign as the puppet master.
Yeah, I wonder how much those stars got paid for that?
The fact that a mmorpg team can afford to hire celebrities to plug their product means that, yes, it's going at least fairly mainstream.
it won't go completely mainstream tho until it not only has the great noncombat aspects, but combat that matches that of non mmo games.
Who actually watches MTV anyway? Besides little kids who don't know any better. 99% of their music sucks. And I want to see carson daily or whatever fucking burn. What an annoying, stupid bastard. lol
They're no worse than review sites tho. Sites like gamespy, gamespot, etc etc (and prolly mmorpg.com, tho not as much as it's more niche) accept payoffs to write good reviews constantly. Notice how many of these big name games that suck ASS have 1000000 great reviews? That's a review site with a couple thousand extra in their account.
Remember kids, when you see the lava coming, duck and cover!!!
