its free to play and download right now just need to make an SOE account to log into it
Its not F2P, you can download the game for free however there is still a monthly fee.
how do I buy a sub to the game?
Just go to SOE website for Planetside, download the game and it will ask you to then create an account.

It just say "You need to setup a subscription. Please click here to start this process."
But I can't find any way to actually buy a sub.

Top right hand side of page, hit "sign up", then create an account. Once this is done, you can select Planetside from the list of games to subscribe to.
I can't find an option to subscribe to planetside anywhere.
Even when I click on games, it just says "More info"
Also! I live in Europe. Could that be the problem?

Look, to people already subbed, it's worth playing. However, there is honestly no point getting in to the original now, what with PS2 on the horizon.
The ONLY reason to sub now, is to automatically be in the beta for PS2.
MMO's played: Ragnarok Online (For years), WoW (for a few weeks only), Guild Wars, Lineage 2, Eve, Allods, Shattered Galaxy, 9 Dragons, City of Heroes, City of Villains, Star Trek Online (Got someone ELSE to pay for it), Champions Online (Someone else paid), Dofus, Dragonica, LOTRO, DDO and more... A LOT more. I've played good AND bad. The bad didn't last long. :P
