I was wondering what is a good 3D graphic desgin program for beginners. I look at 3DSmax, but I'm not going to spend $3000 on some I'm new at. Does anyone know a good starter 3D desigin program?

Yeah, if you actually want to learn, get some learning editions to some actually good 3d modeling programs:
Maya
3D Studio Max
Those are the top two in my opinion, maya is best hands down, but does have the hefty pricetag of about $7,000.00.
You could get your feet wet in more low-end modelers like MilkShape, but you will notice the quality difference between low-end and high-end.
But then I am a software developer, our art is always bad. But I would recommend taking classes, or getting some good books, only so much you can learn form tutorials.
If you are wanting to start out small, try Blender 3d. If you want the next step up try Softimage|XSI foundations. It's only $500 and you can hang with the big boys
i got animation master (which is a 3d program yes) for $200 bucks on sale at comic con. but usually its 300, i think its a pretty easy program and definitly a buy for begginginers.
Best graphic 3d program for all is 3D studio max, there is lot of tutorials for begginers...
Greetings
