Wireless Connection

Hi all,

 

Thanks for reading.

 

I am hoping that you can share what wireless USB adapter you use at home to access the internet? Currently I am using a TP-Link TL-WN821N Wireless N USB Adapter. This was fine but since moving house, the strength of the connection is quite poor and I was looking at whether anyone had a suggestion for an upgrade?

 

Not sure if it helps, but I am based in the UK and access the internet using a SKY router...my budget is quite poor and about £40 (max).

    Can you not route some Cat6 cable to your PC/Laptop location? It would be my first choice for gaming and is dirt cheap.

     

    Edit - If that's not possible then these are fantastic but they don't work in some modern houses with seperate mains circuits, so check that out http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-032-TP&groupid=46&catid=1604&subcat=2024

    Unfortunately that isn't an option.

     

    Long story short, I am back at the folks house for a few months and as a result can't use a wire as it isn't my router (or house!).

    I bought this recently and haven't had any issues with it, works great. I also purchased a new Cisco router to go with too though, my signal is pretty strong. Not sure how it would work with what you have but it should work well.

    Ah... I hadn't thought of buying a new router...

     

    I will see what works with my internet connection and will buy a router and adapter!
