New Battleground is an Easter Egg Hunt?!

BarryManilowBarryManilow Member UncommonPosts: 701

The Basic Concept

Both sides of up to 15 players each compete to occupy the five resource nodes spread throughout Arathi Basin.

Each claimed node generates resources for the owning team. The more nodes your team controls, the quicker you gain natural resources. The first team that gains 2,000 resources wins.

Both the winning and losing team earn honor after completing an Arathi Basin Battleground, as accumulated resources translate directly into bonus honor for players. Even if you don't win the Battleground, you walk away with honor.

As players compete, they will improve their reputation with the Defilers or League of Arathor, thereby earning many new and powerful rewards.

Arathi Basin is banded by level, just like Warsong Gulch. The minimum level to join is 21, and different instances will spawn for players between levels 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, and 51-60.

Hey, I guess even the "gold" farmers and professional e-bayers need to have fun too in the game.

What has the MMORPG -genre gone too now that they have to add kiddy games like Easter egg hunts in a game.

Guess Blizzard want to hit their goals on thier 8-12 year demographics.  Kidding of course but damn.  image

    Easter egg hunt? Hardly.

If anything, this is better than CTF. This at least brings it back to its Warcraft roots of an RTS and gathering resources and making you feel like you're one of the soldiers in the world of Warcraft (not exactly a pun, that's why its named that). CTF has no place in an RPG...

Easter egg hunt? It's king of the hill with 5 hills to be the king of.

The OP needs his head checked.. Just how you get Easter Egg hunt out of that is still beyond me....

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

Why can't we have a LARGE zone with no limit on number of players.

I played horde which is generally(on my server too) the lower population but yet i hate this 10,15 or 30 men instances.

This is not what MMORPG is about.

10 men fighting in a zone so small i can see from one end to another is not exactly why i pay to play.

Even AV is so small and the queue time is so long.Give us a large zone with no limit on numbers.

Honor - with enough honor you can buy items for your own personal use.  These type of items are Bind on Pickup, meaning they can't be traded.  They can be sold vendors for a little coin.  Why would a professional gold farmer or ebay'er want to waste their time earning honor so that they can bag a few gold?  I'm completely confused as to why you say that the new BG is for these types of people to have fun.

Easter Egg Hunt - WTF?  How do you turn a resource based king of the hill type game into an easter egg hunt?  Are you Sofa King Ray Todd Ed?

Young player base - true, lots of kiddies in WoW, but whats that have to do with this BG?  Nothing.  Maybe before you start criticizing something you should get a clue, otherwise you just sound like another one of the 12 year old punk kids who play this game.

I have to agree... I think the idea behind battlegrounds is great, but they could have found a way to make these battles happen in the normal world. I realy hate playing in those instances all the time. (And the higher level you get, the more time you spend in instances.)

The thing that makes an MMORPG better than a Diablo2, is that you can encounter random players while doing quests, experience social stuff, team up together... that's why I m paying a monthly fee.

Huba that was very well written. Agree with every part of it.

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.
