looking for good free mmorpg

im lookin for a good, free mmorpg that is not too time-consuming and is compatible with my crapy comp. anyone got any suggestions?

    you can try the Shadowbane free trial.... it's mainly a PvP/Guild game... no real questing, mostly combat.   Also I think Asheron's Call has a free trial too.

    He asked for a free game, not a game with a free trial.

    I would personally recommend Knight Online. Its one of the best free MMORPGs i've played. Having said that, I still didn't really enjoy it. I prefer paying to get a quality MMORPG.

    you should play ogre island, its a hard start but when you find your way it is better then world of warcraft

    you can build houses, fight monsters, travel and place tents (when you die you end up there), make swords, make bows, make potions, make everything.

    The only good "free" online game is Guild Wars, your still ganna need to buy the box.

    If you need to buy the box I don't consider it free, but rather the fact that there is no monthly fee.

    Endlessages is about to release a large update to their Atlanta server that would allow a person to play in there Huge boomtown area free of charge forever. the area has 55+ hours of gameplay and  Best thing though is that since it is a MMO-FPS-RPG it lets you pvp in an arena area designated for people who are you level. that way you dont get blasted by high lvl players. as for your suck ass comp, dun worry the Developers have lowered the "frames per second" for the game slightly to allow lower end comps to play the game with out it being a total lag fest, and they were able to do it while still maintaining better graphics than planetside or counterstrike (2 other MMOFPS games.)

    give it a try, its the shiz^_^ (b4 i forget to tell you the actual game is 9.95 a month, it is free to play in boom town. the update is expected to release in about 2-3 weeks) If you play look for Zack in game. i'll be around.

    I've been having some fun with Supreme Destiny. Combat system is crappy, but the game has some interesting features. If you played Priston Tale and liked it (for some reason I did), and you don't think any MMO's out right now are worth paying for (which I don't), then I would say give it a try.

    The lag on KO made it completely unplayable to me, though the game didn't look bad.

    there's a sticky with a list of free games. I recommend Guild Wars... you have to buy the game, but no monthly fees. But other than that...

    ...runescape... (?) (please don't flame me image)
