LF MMO with sense of Accomplishment

DemudusDemudus Member Posts: 3

Title pretty much explains it. I know they probally dont exist anymore but im just wondering if anyone knows of a game where it actually feels like you accomplished something. im sick of this whole genre of gaming that wow has brought where you can bash your face off the keyboard for a few hours and make it to top lvl then within the first weekend you can be full raid geared and have to sit in town doing nothing all day.

ive tried almost every mmo out and it just feels like its all the same, theres no sense of accomplishment like there used to be. its all the same and all so easy. if anyone knows of a game that is like this id like to know. idc if the game is pvp or pve focused, i just want some meaning to my games besides wasting time.

LOTRO has a huge sense of accomplishment after you've been through so much in that game you feel like a veteran, at least i do when i loginto my end game toons.

Just wait for GW2. It will proivde all the accomplishments you need. And the best part is if you dont have the time to accomplish anything you can just buy it in the store.

i never did make it to endgame in lotro, i know alot of people say its a great game and everything but is the endgame actually like the old style games where it takes time to get the gear? or am i gunna polish off a character within the first week and have nothing to do like every other game?

it actually does take a fair amount of time to get geared in this game, My personal experience is through building up currency to purchase the armor i wanted except for the weapons, LI's you have to level in order for them to be worth anything in the end and most of the time (if you refuse to spend money on the enhancements) you spend some time leveling lower quality Legendary Items (weapons) in the game to get the abilities off of those and put them on your main weapon to make them more powerful.

sounds like to me that you don't feel games waste your time enough, and you want to waste A LOT MORE time.  8)

surely you've heard of and tried Darkfall by now.

if not, give it a shot.   takes FOREVER to get maxed out in "everything".   something i really hate about it.  it can even take a long time just to get used to the interface.  8)  maybe you'll like that "feature" too.  hehe

when you die, you can really lose alot of time, etc.., which some call "meaningful", etc., etc.

a very punishing game that might give you a "sense of accomplishment" etc.

If you want a sense of accomplishment, then try A Tale in the Desert.  You can find weird things to do that no one else has ever done before.  Unless, of course, you also lack creativity, and are really hoping for a game where you'll feel good about an NPC telling you:

"Congratulations!  You are the 56,905th player to defeat Bob the Really Big Dragon.  Don't  you feel special?"

    In that case, it's hopeless.
