How many game do you play where you go like "WOW im lvl 3 i feel like going to the place where lvl where lvl 138 people hunt" Well why dont you take THAT into mind.
This game does have some of its bad and good things about it. The bad things are that when you get to a high lvl it takes forever to lvl up. I have a friend whos lvl 47 and takes him more then a day to lvl up but if he dies he loses a few house of exp. Depending on how u like graphics, if u do not care about graphics this game wouldnt madder because it uses low requirements. This game is good if u got nothing to do u can play it and just BS around.......but there are a lot of scammers in this game that take your account............THIS GAME IS A TIME WASTER if you got nothing to do.
the game isnt that bad, its alright... just lvl tooooo slow, but its a time waster when ur bored and got nothing else to do like doing timing jump quest in the game like old classic NES side scroller games.... dont we all remember those days... and besides not many GREAT mmorpg that are free.

firstly, look at all the skills. for example, the archers. double shot could very well be double strafe for hunters in ro and arrow blow is like charge arrow. Their wizards also have ground(area) skills. their thieves use "katars"
Secondly, its their job class, they have similar job classes such as clerics/priests wizards alike, hunters, assassins, crusaders, paladins, knights etc.
thirdly, their sprites maybe "cute". but i find it pretty lame cuz the guys and the girls share similar body sprites which is just a simple oval shape.
next, their monsters. dont you find it odd they have: jr yeti, jr pepe, yeti, pepe, dark yeti, dark pepe, yeti and pepe, dark yeti and pepe. stump, dark stump, axe stump, dark axe stump. and all sorts of coloured mushrooms, even horny ones. they simply either run out of ideas or run out of names. and the similarity between slimes from maple and porings from ragnarok is pretty obvious.
last and obviously, the game is 2d. not much better than pokemon. cuz you can only move side to side. here, its just--everything stacked.

Well which game is 100% original? All games today borrow something from another game. I mean look at ragnarok online for instance. The fact that u have to be lvl 5 to learn how to sit to regain health -_- or lvl up to a certain lvl to trade... that idea is lame. But what i dont like the most about ragnarok is the auto attack feature... u just get your guy to attacking some dude and you just wait wait use potion wait wait potion...and your only facing that one guy unless u are a mage so you cast a spell and you walk around cast anotehr spell and walk around and you hope that the monster runs into your wall of fire. You can't do that in maplestory. You can have like 3 pigs running at you, or while u fighting some slime and your pretty low on health you hope they dont spawn another slime right on top of you. You can actually jump and try to dodge in maplestory where in most mmorpgs you cant even jump, you just walk around.
But then again... maplestory is a sidescroller not a 2d/3d enviroment like ragnarok. Maplestory just to fit the sidescrolling thing... they put up side scrolling obstacle courses which u have to time your jumps to make it to the top. In maplestory if you think about it...some quests actually allows you to use your thinking skills and timing skills to get through with quests instead of the basic mmorpg where u just fight fight fight and stuff.

The most original part of maplestory is the cute characters, toy-like weapons and most of all the 2D
like no game is original, if u say ragnarok is its not fairyland is just like it and the skills dont matter in anygame whether they copied or not...
lets say "movies" like all war movies have BIG castles and lots and lots of men...
fantasy movies all have lil creatures and u float around n stuff so barely anything in the world is originated

For me, this game basically came down to finding mobs that I could kill, and hold down the CTRL key until they died. As an Archer, there really wasn't much else to do. The early skills improve your crit %, accuracy, etc, but as far as strategy, it's just shoot mob, loot, repeat forever.
This is more of a side-scrolling adventure game than a skill based MMORPG.

This game was okay i'm not going to say I hated it. I just never excelled in it or whatever and I never got hold in the community and made any freinds. There's better and there's worse but over I enjoyed playing MS.

the "fun" thing about this game is exploring new places and going there to lvl.
however, how many new places are there? 10?
and playing ragnarok gets me 2 years to get bored of. playing maple takes me 3 days

Maplestory just to fit the sidescrolling thing... they put up side scrolling obstacle courses which u have to time your jumps to make it to the top. In maplestory if you think about it...some quests actually allows you to use your thinking skills and timing skills to get through with quests instead of the basic mmorpg where u just fight fight fight and stuff.
What i'm saying is all games are similiar whether you like it or not. All mmorpgs and rpgs today imitate old classic games like diablo or baldurs gate or whatever. If you like the style of this game fine... play it, if you don't then its not your style then, and you should just go play another game.
I just would say that this game is okay, not bad, not that great either. It has its good points and its bad points. Overall its just a good time waster.

I love the old side scrolling Super Mario games and when i found MapleStory it just blew my mind. I play lots of 2d games like Tibia, but those games don't even come close to the, I can not think of the word I want but you know what I mean, of MapleStory.

If you don't like the game then I don't really care. But don't go onto the MapleStory forums and tell the whole world how much you hate it. There are planty other forums to do that on.
The most original part of maplestory is the cute characters, toy-like weapons and most of all the 2D
like no game is original, if u say ragnarok is its not fairyland is just like it and the skills dont matter in anygame whether they copied or not...
lets say "movies" like all war movies have BIG castles and lots and lots of men...
fantasy movies all have lil creatures and u float around n stuff so barely anything in the world is originated
For me, this game basically came down to finding mobs that I could kill, and hold down the CTRL key until they died. As an Archer, there really wasn't much else to do. The early skills improve your crit %, accuracy, etc, but as far as strategy, it's just shoot mob, loot, repeat forever.
This is more of a side-scrolling adventure game than a skill based MMORPG.
