Botting is for the weak willed and simple minded. If you cant do the work required to succeed, dont play games, read a book, go outside or something. You deserved to get banned, you violated the EULA, doing so you initiated a breach of contract. Gain some skill and come back in a few years.

I made a character to lvl 70 and I NEVER botted or walkered or anything. And no one has played my character except me. I have never botted a buff bot either.
I stopped playing because people I have never seen before were getting really high level by afk botting and running buff BOTS all the time.

On Sieghardt I have been hunting in EV for the past 3 days now, and the same farmer group has been there for all 3 days, in the same spot, running the same circle. I play 16 hours a day sometimes, and they are always there before me, always there after me, and are obviously botting. Obviously the GM's don't care if farmers bot, or if adena sellers farm. They only punish the individuals and that's wrong. It should be all or nothing, not selective in their enforcement.
The higher level I get, the fewer hunting spots there are, and it's getting annoying having to find places to hunt without farmers / bots in the way all the time.
Yeah, interesting that you hear of individuals getting banned for botting, but the large farmer bot groups seem to continue on and on.. Course, they are doing it for professional purposes, and probably cover their tracks in some shape or form. Or if they do get banned, they immediately reorganize with a new set of bots... but who knows.. seems obvious to me.
I've never botted, nor ebayed... 100% purest. I do 2-box (which is legit), but only for buffs, and totally manually driven (I hate the term buff-bot... as it's no bot).
Yeah, I'd say 5-10% bot... but 80-90% have ebayed. Both against the eula and bannable offenses. Personally, I would have liked to NcSOFT crack down on the ebaying long ago... Easy solution to catch ebayers, buyers and sellers, is to set up a sting... Basically, ncsoft becomes a seller, and a buyer... They would purchase adena and then go to get there adena.. and ban the account that meets them.. They could also set up some accounts online.. so peops would buy adena... then meet in game, and get banned. Guaranteed in less than a month, both farmers and buyers would be greatly greatly reduced.
Blah, I already bashed the botter. Please, if anyone is gonna play Lineage 2, don't consider botting, I am not 100% sure but you may go to hell for it. Hey, it could happen.

I'm glad L2 is an MMO though. It seems to have coralled a lot of the racist, immature, 1337 kids into one game...making other MMOs lighter in this department than before L2's release.

Even though I do not play lineage 2 anymore, it doesn't suck. It is truly an amazing game if you subtract the cheaters and a bit of grind. There is soo much stuff to do in game; for example, guilds and alliances, castle seiges, guild wars, seven signs, festival of darkness, necroplis and catacombs, lottery, manor system, monster races, vast lands to explore, tons of raid/boss monsters that take skill to defeat, etc.
When chronicle 4 comes out, much more will come to l2; for example, hero system, S grade weapons, fishing(w00t!), etc.

And botters only seem to be 90% because you do it and your surrounded with botting friends so you assume everyone else does it as well.
If you are that addicted and stressed out over the game I think its good that you got banned. I would recommend an easier/less addictive game, so you can become good without having to stress like you are now.

Botting is pretty bad in many games.
But I think Buying Adena and characters is just as bad.
and i don't see people getting banned for that.
Personally I could care less if someone bought money or botted there charachter for xp.
To me those things dont affect me directly.
People who use hacks and exploits like "tracking" exploits, or speed hacks or screen dragging--thats the kind of stuff I think is lame.
Dude wants to bot lvl his charachter -so what! But someone wants to speed hack or screen drag to kick my @$$ in pvp--that ticks me off.
