I heard this on the internets but I'm too lazy to look it up. Is it true?
Also, is this satirical writing subtley shedding light on the people who make posts like this in an effort to derail the legitimate excitement amassed regarding this game by distorting the truth to favor a negative position?
I just sell gems for ingame gold and items. So thanks to Arenanet I can hire others to spend real time to play GW2!
So is the intent of this thread to divert attention from Anet allowing people to buy gems with dollars and covert it to gold? Which is RMT, just legal because Anet is doing it?
Maybe even to distract from the fact that you paid $60 for the game, and yet there's a cash shop? Is it true that WvW is effect by cash shop buffs because it is dependent on your PvE status? Pretty much because your skills are unlocked for WvW from PvE and PvE gained skill points.
Are people no longer allowed to care if a game becomes a money grab?
First, RMT is like the comon cold, you're bound to come in contact with it whether it be from one person or the next. Just because Anet is doing it in some way shape or form don't make it legal by many people's standards but it's also not illegal or else they would'nt be able to do it :-)
Get over it, no one complained when they said they were not charging a subscription for the game but everyone is up in arms because they are making a profit in other ways..... riiiigghhtt....If you don't like the business model then you're under no obligation to play but I hope that's really not the decision maker for you.
People are allowed to care about whatever they want, the question is will that force Anet to change the system they have in place? Nope. That would lead to them changing much bigger dynamics I would think, this close to release I'm not expecting them to say "Ok fans, we'll not allow gems to be bought from cash shop". Can you imagine? if they made them attainable in game the RMT companies would corner the field on them and shut you out, then you would complain about the RMT in game just like your complaining about what Anet is doing. I don't see the RMT'ing companies trading gems for gold but I guess they could give you gold once you buy gems? Which would suck, I don't know how that stuff works but doing it like this puts the ball in Anets court and out of theirs which I love. I hate seeing a gold-sellers name undercutting me in the auction house fifteen times! I absolutely hate it.
I don't believe in supporting RMT but guess what, because Anet has made a game and implimented a system that just so happens to make them money, I'm certain I will be buying some gems at some point in time and I won't feel bad if I turned around and sold it to another player for gold to obtain an item. There I said it....
Anet just removed the sidekicking feature from the game to make more moneys with XP boost.

I heard sidekicking UP was removed, not sidekicking down. But I have no proof of that and guess what....I bet you don't either. Link something that gives evidence of your statement or I will continue to be skeptical of it.

"Sidekicking up levels only applies to World PvP. At no point during PvE gameplay will a player be sidekicked up, only down.[4] This is to create a sense of danger when adventuring outside a character's level."
There is a lengthy thread on this board around this point already. Short version is, "sidekicking up" in PvE was a planned feature which devs decided was not a good idea. That this was done in order to sell more XP boosts is at best speculation.

Or it was because "this is to create a sense of danger when adventuring outside a character's level."
If you play while on the job, you will be spending someone else's time... Of course you will likely be out of a job shortly upon discovery, and then will have to revert back to spending your time to play.
What they need is a system whereby I can gather a group of loyal hanchmen around my character. Then I can tell them to do a game mission, or a series of missions, especially ones that I don't want to do. Then I log off. When I log back in, I get all the experience and loot, same as if I had been there leading the group the whole time. I bet the game would fly by then, with a minimum of muss and fuss and time spent on my part.

The thread has been reported already....i rest my case.
What for? The OP just made a satirical post. And how does reporting this thread rest your case?
Was wondering the same thing.

So gaming for me is priceless, well spend prime time, a time to relax and enjoy and not something that should feel ike another job.

Hype train -> Reality
Don't kick 'em while they're down and sobbing, OP. I've seen dozens... well several.... ok ONE legitimate gripe about GW2 here recently.
I'm paying someone else to play GW2 for me.
Seems more economical.
