Though a tragic loss I think the REAL crime was fact they were
playing WORLD OF WARCRAFT. On a positive note though at least
they can spend more time playing games

If a mass murderer attack peoples in a Baseball game, does folks blame Baseball? No! Why is it any different when it is a video game? The parents where free, at any moment, to leave Warcraft. For any evil reason they didnt, this reason has nothing to do with the game, and everything to do with the parents.
You can always make a research and find out how many children died while parents where drunks, stone cold with drugs, working or simply exhausted and forget the baby on the backseat of the car. Come on, blame work or exhaustion, drugs or alcool, since if you can blame a harmless video game, you sure can blame working or anything else!

The reason I said WOW was the real crime is becouse of the violence it portrays.
Purchasing swords, buying armor, all in the name of killing your fellow brothers and
sisiters. Surely the death of 1 child is very insignificant to the mass killing in WOW.
Though at times I am sort of glad WOW is going otherwise imagine these players
running around the real streets, (shudders). Even worse than that could be the
possibilty of having a conversation with one ie, "I badAzz wanna dulz".

Virtuality is different than reality. Let's just leave it at that and not bring this discussion off topic with a futile "killing things in virtual worlds is (not) as bad as killing things in the real world!!!" debate. Also, open your eyes- violent media (paintings, music, drawings, games, movies, etc) has been along a lot longer than World of Warcraft so I suggest not single out World of Warcraft for it's rather cartoony violence.
Other than that, the parents are to blame for their incompetence in parenting and I do agree that this is a sad event that does happen in the real world due to foolishness.

If you werent 12 and had a child you would probably do something like this. This had nothing to do with the game, it was the fact they left the baby at home, ALONE! Good day!

I'm sorry, are you comparing virtual deaths of non-existant game characters with the death of a quite real baby (you know, the type with flesh and blood that lives in a 3D world)? Not to mention that this was a case of parental neglect, not a violent act.
As to whether the portrayal of violence generates violent behaviours, it is highly doubtful, as a healthy person can make a distinction between fantasy and reality from quite an early age. Much like kids role playing "Cowboys and Indians", where the death of the character happens with full understanding that it's a virtual death with no consequencies in real life and is not generated by hatred towards the player opponent.

There was also a case where some parents tried to sue SOE because they were so addicted to EQ1. That they forgot to take their kid out of the car. I think the kid died from heat exhaustion.

Well, this is kind of ridiculous. I don't know why people care what others think, since this is the internet, but that's not the topic.
People in Korea die every few months due to Online Games. I have heard of a few cases. 3 of them died of poor nutrition, because they only drank coffee for 50 hours. Two of them were found dead in the rest room. One died on the way home. Another one was murdered by his friend because he stole a sword in a game. Now a 4-month girl dies because her parents abandon her alone (btw I've heard 1-month kids die because their parents slept on them by mistake). I don't know people, I guess people die of everything, even breathing.
The average gamer does not play for 50 hours straight (to get a heart attack from exhaustion). These people had personal issues and they found games as a way out of reality, thus becoming addicted to them. The object of the addiction is coincidental, it's just the first object that becomes available. It could as well be hard drugs, alcohol, television or music, anything that would allow them a temporary escape.
As for the parents who sued SOE, it is understandable that it's hard to blame yourself in such a case. The same goes for the old cases where Quake was blamed for a teen suicide by his parents, in an attempt to avoid responsibility.

I believe that WOW has the highest incident of child neglect
for an MMORPG game. Although even I find this hard to believe
as the vast majority haven't even reached there teens.. hhmmm
go figure.
