I hate the female character and armor design and what the OP brought up doesn't make this any better.
What do you expect me to think when the artists got too trigger happy and ended up with downright embarassing armors and swaying around seductively in the character selection, then suddenly coming up to what it looks like a five year old girl with her underwear showing doing the same animation?
It really comes across as wanting to have your cake and eat it. Have the cuteness appeal or the sexyness appeal, not both.
I suggest some of you responding to this thread do not move to New York...

I too think the characters look like little school girls and it gave me the creeps knowing that older men were playing them. I uninstalled it about 10 minutes after beta testing. This one is definitely off of my radar. I think En masse dropped the ball on this and I can't help thinking that pedophiles will flock to this title.

Not a fan of the half naked 5 year old looking girls either , regardless of what age the game says they are, we all know what the designers were going for.
That being said to each his own this is why there are many different MMOs for us to chose from, dont like it? dont look at it.

You have no idea what you are talking about. I come from a law enforcement background and if you had seen half of the sicko junk that I have seen, you would know what I am saying.
The elin equivilent is a short furry, bear looking race. You can find plenty of male figures being exploited in the male castonics though.
I find the Elin's cute but the way they move their hips is sexy, but you gotta remember its just a videogame/anime char and not real life. IRL I hate kids, I find em annoying as hell. Some people need to have a more open mind. If yer attracted to some videogame/anime char so what? Its like saying if your male irl and playing a male char that you like staring at their ass all day (since most mmo's use 3rd person) and that your gay, its not true at all. So Liking Elin's doesn't make you a lolicon/pedo IMO. its not real, now if you were attracted that way towards kids in real life, then I'd be worried.
In teras release Imma be a Elin Lancer.. you has problem? to bad. I find them cute and I moreso find it funny as hell how she swings a spear thats 4 times her size one handed, it makes me laugh. Then again I am still undecided on buying Tera, since other than combat its pretty much a generic mmorpg.
Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:
A. Proven right (if something bad happens)
or
B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)
Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime!

In one corner we have guys pretending to be girls or talking to girls, getting off to animated characters, blah blah blah, and in the other corner we have guys hiding in bushes with video cameras watching bathrooms, changing rooms, raping little girls and such. I report, you decide. GO!

If people were capable of doing the slightest bit of research for themselves we wouldn't have a new post every month asking why guys playing female character or pitching how awesome it would be for the community to rally together and make an MMO.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Lol, if 200 of this community rallied together we would get 207 different views and a massive argument.Well neither are okay but one is SIGNIFICANTLY more better than the other. I guess I do know a little about what I was talking about.
for gods sake its just a game, get over it. Theres much wrong with this world we live in, but games dont fit into top 1.000 problems, i believe.
ps: chair warriors raging over games wont change much, mind you. We'll still live in corrupt, and by all its definition, broken world, even if you refuse play tera because of said characters.

You mean some people were raised to think half naked children are cute? Ya obviously some of you are. Its called over exposure to Asian themed art. Where the exploitation of children and women are a part of the culture, but not where I come from.
