Originally posted by Kaowyn Guild Wars is OK for what it is. Having no monthly fees is very nice for some, but you definetly get what you pay for. Stop worrying about the diverse views of this game and enjoy it if you can.Are you worried that if enough people complain loudly enough about Guild Wars that they may decide they have to institute a monthly fee to "fix" things?
I tend to agree with the quoted poster. Play Guild Wars for what it is -- a glorified medieval RPG form of Counter-Strike. If anyone reading this forum is looking for a new MMORPG to play, Guild Wars is not to be considered a member of that genre.
Every online game is borken in some way. GW is not my favorite, but it is fun at times. I mostly only play when i have a short amount of time to kill and nothing is on TV etc, or i know my friends will be on.
GW is not the type of game you buy and spend hour after hour playing to get taht one drop and that is its strength. And as long as i never have to pay a monthly fee i think i got my moneys worth.
If i wanted an endless game of looonng quests there are many options available. But if you only want to bop in and kill some time even games advertrised for casual players (such as WoW) don't offer this. Heck once you hit 60 in a decent guild you ahve almost nothign to do between MC resets and running MC takes forever compared to the rewards.

I'd feel too guilty posting one-liners with a sig like that...
