Attacking another game in a different games forum doesn't really seem any more mature sorry just my opinion though.
Oh please...dont be ridiculous. You're gonna tell me if a game rocks, you wont play it on principle? ...Yea, right.
Funcom certainly doesnt want people with your attitude and neither do I...please follow thru and stay far away from secret world.

Funcom has tried hard to put out innovative MMOs. Its sad they dont get the credit they deserve.
I cannot wait for TSW and hope they enjoy a huge success with it.

I remembered playing the beta for AoC and making numerous topics about various issues i came across. The response? flaming. I've played so many games throughout the years and a bunch of beta testing. I knew the game would not be successful within 2 hours of playing the beta. People need to face the fact that "its just a beta" does not apply to everything. If there's a few quests that aren't working flawlessly but don't impede the overall progression then fine. The statement "Its a beta" would be justified if someone would even bother complaining about it. However when core functionality is absolutely rubbish and broken during an open beta posts such as "its in beta" are equally rubbish and unjustified.
Game companies don't go into open beta unless they find their game to be near finished. Open betas has come to work much like demos do for singleplayer games and game companies are well aware of that. If its heavily flawed..ABANDON SHIP. Most definitely do not purchase the game prior to release. This has saved me plenty of money throughout the years.
Definitely make your opinions heard too. No matter how much flame you'll receive from "fanboys". There will always be those people that refuse to accept that the game they've been waiting ages for, ultimately turns out to be trash. That'll last a couple of months into release until these people also start to realize their beloved game is awful.( although they'll never admit it ).
This post kinda moved away from the topic but some experience which i based this opinion of was gained through AoC beta. I do also get a similar vibe with "The Secret World" although i haven't played the beta of it so I'll leave it at that.
Dont you boycott something to get something? Also i thot for a boycott to mean anything you needed to have a large group of people and actually be known by the person or company you are boycotting. Funcom and EA will never know of your boycott nor will they care, due to them having a larger group of people looking foward to their next game than they have that are still holding AOC against them.

Not that I don't thing you are wrong... At least in AO's case. It's a great game.

But As I said before, AO is a great game inspite of Funcom, not because of Funcom.
Funcom does have good ideas, they just fail to pull it off. As much as I dislike funcom I have not resorted to a boycott of funcom. If TSW is good and a real MMO, I will comend them. It may be a good game eventually, but it will never be an MMORPG. Its just going to be another online RPG with multiplayer option.
EA on the other hand, I will never buy anything that has EA on it. They are a scum bag company. I wish other gamers would stand with the EA boycott of EA because you vote with your wallet. The gamers as a whole could make it better for every gamer if they stood up against EA, but I am not holding my breath that it will happen.
Since EA is associated with TSW now, I will never play this game.

well said. i have taken exactly the same decision towards them.
What this world lacks, is more people with principles, like you and me and so many others that refuse to be sheep of companies who use lying, falsehood and deception as a means to sell their craps.
refuse to be a sheep, stand up for what should be right.
