Any buzz on newer F2P games?

Looking for...

  • PVE, no forced PVP

  • ASDW control

  • Tab-target combat

  • No gender locked classes

  • Moderate hardware requirements

Vanguard is going F2P this summer if you can hold onto your hat.

That was my pick too.  Seems like a very solid game and good performer.  Graphics are a bit more cute than what I was hoping for, but it runs and plays very well so that makes up for it.

On my to-do list.  I'm actually more looking forward to VG than GW2.  Large, retro... that's a good fit for me.

I second Vanguard, I'll be playing it when it goes F2P, just an amazing world.

I guess if you want PVE focus with story-driven gameplay, both SWTOR and TSW are filling that niche. SWTOR obviously already out, TSW coming out soon(?)

Really in a drought now of new games, most are waiting for GW2/TSW/TERA to be release, then wait a few months than the next round of games coming out.

Keep an eye on Lime Odyssey, it is hosted by the same company as Eden Eternal.

They claim it is the spiritual successor to Ragnarok, and for good reason, a large portion of the team that made RO is now making LO. The game looks to be promising, there is one thing about it though, that really keeps it apart from all the rest.

The two other versions of it (Its KR and Tiawanese versions) have shutdown or gone under to repair for several months. The NA version is still getting ready for its CB phase, which may possibly happen in a few months. Currently, the developers are actually listening to the NA base, where as they would normally take their suggestions from their country, our voices are the only ones that are really here now.

So yeah, if you are playing EE, just keep an eye on LO, you never know, you may like it.

Aeria Games (Eden Eternal/Lime Odyssey) is the king of the trash heap of Pay-to-Win.

Steer clear of their cash shop schemes and you'll be fine (unless you should ever have to deal with their CSRs).
