Custom chain skills not working correctly?

EvilestTwinEvilestTwin Member Posts: 286

I've noticed when trying to setup my own custom chains on my warrior that you can't setup custom chain skills for certain skills.

For example, dodge automatically chains into vortex slash, but you can't actually change that in the custom chain skills toolbox.    Combative Strike is also missing from the list, so I can't setup a custom followup for that either.

You can't drag the spells from your skill book into the second slot of the Chain Skill UI?

  • EvilestTwinEvilestTwin Member Posts: 286

I want to change the first slot.   Ie, instead of dodge -> vortex slash, I want to do dodge -> some other skill, but dodge is on the list, neither is combative strike.

You cannot change the first column of skills. They should be provided.

    Don't forget to scroll down.

Edit: no need to for you to post a screenshot.

    Eh?  Here's a screenshot anyways:

There's actually quite a few trigger skills missing, yet things that you'd never want to use as a trigger skil like smoke aggressor and it's commands are on there...

Ah, I see. And so I went searching.

    Thread source.

    Post: #14 in that thread.

"they allow some customization because there are glyphs that make chains off skills beneficial

Say there are two glyphs for skill A.

Glyph 1 makes skill B activate 20% faster when used after skill A

Glyph 2 makes skill C do 20% more damage when used after skill A

The skills aren't in a pre set up combo, so you set them yourself. If you are going to use b after A more often you set B to be chained to A. Same goes if you are going to use C more than B."

The underlined isn't the case with Combative Strike.

Combative Strike has the following followups:

-Rain of Blows: 50% faster animation

-Rising Fury (Glyph): 20% more damage

-Leaping Strike (Glyph): 35/45% more damage

Evasion also has a glyph that makes poison blade heal 3% hp, so it'd be nice to have that as a auto-combo instead of having to set a key for it since poison blade is completely useless otherwise.

Ah dammit it haha. I should've said "The underlined isn't the case with Combative Strike, right?"

Try posting in that thread or making a new thread in there (Classes, Skills, & Glyphs).

    I can´t provide you with a solution I´m afraid.

I looked in the thread and it seems like most people don't really understand what's going on either.   Some people said they do have extra empty slots they can drag skills into but other people say they don't.

Maybe it's something they'll fix after beta.   Thanks anyways though.

I've played all the melee's classes and by far the warriors chains are the worst, but due to their high attack speed I'm not sure they really need it.  Slayers by far is the best (everything chains off of overhand strike) followed by Lancer & Zerker.

Anyway Warrior's are getting a future revamp so its all subject to change.

    This ^

I did have some issues w/ the warrior chains. With the slayer I basically could setup whatever combos I wanted, which was quite awesome.

Not sure if this is by design, or if it's something they are supposedly fixing in a later patch.

I would imagine the self rooting on ability use, especially when it comes to PvP to be 100 times worse then weapon chains.
