No week off for me (work comes first) so my leveling speed will be somewhat stunted. Not gonna sweat it though, I hardly ever rush to cap in any game.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
You know, if they are going to have a quick leveling progression then take some time to cordon off areas of each existing zone to put higher level bracket content in. Like Theobomos in Aion. The world if Arborea is vast and beautiful, don't make provinces obsolete in one weekend hehe.
While your at it make all the dungeons scaleable after 60. Reuse and Recycle baby! It's not just the name of some twin swords.
Lol, well if he didn't like it he could play and watch your back right?
Tell me about ganking. We had Eggsovereasy on our sever (Vaizel) along with some other guys stomping around Eltnen 24/7. Once I got to around 40 I spent almost three weeks with some guildies chasing them down and getting some retribution. Was a lot of fun.
By that time Eggs had quite though. There were some 50's that couldn't even take him down because he was in full PvP gear from ganking people 24/7. Ah, those were the days...
Not to split hairs but Korean grinders made Aion at launch look like WoW. As it is now.
Korean Grinders don't realy have many quests, you really don't get a lot of xp at all (if any) and the whole idea is that you log in, go to a field, dungeon, etc, and grind until pvp happens or you go to a city or log off.
In a Korean grinder, at high levels, you can expect to kill 4 or 5 mobs for .01% xp .
I realize some people feel the leveling in Aion was harsh but compared to an actual Korean grinder it was easy peezy lemon squeezy.
Now, to your poiint, Tera is beyond easy to level, even compared to Aion. It's a bit of a worry because i wonder how many people are going to hit cap in a week. Since I took the week off I imagine I will.
what are you crazy o.-? thats way too fast man more along the line of like 10 kills for 0.001% =P
The world is seamless, i litereanly have cross between quiet a few zones by climbing the mountains randomly. the flight is not a loading screen, what is it is is just a way to speed up traving. When you enter a zone you get put in the most crowed channel i think. As channel goes its adjusted to the population.
"In a Korean grinder, at high levels, you can expect to kill 4 or 5 mobs for .01% xp . "
Alot of ppl dont like games based on grinding mobs for xp because they play the game only thinking in reaching next lvl.
Im playing L2 atm, lvl 85 i get 0.01% per mob but i dont care because i dont play looking to my xp bar. I play L2 for several reasons and get next lvl just hapened soon or later.
In any game i play i just want to focus in the content to my corrent lvl, been lvl 5 or lvl 100. If i play a game where my only objective is reach next lvl, nothing more, i simple quit.
Anyway, sorry about off topic
Note: i intend to grind (hope in groups) my way on TERA and only doing the "red" quests, prefer this way then been a "robot" running like no brain doing everthing the npcs tell me to do
The channels could be considered instancing by some people. Not seamless means "zones" are seperated by loading screens. When someone asks "is the world seamless" I take that to mean could I walk from one end to the other without a loading screen. The answer is yes except the continents being separated by water.
Hopefully once the initial rush of launch passes and players get spread out they will remove the extra channels. If I remember correctly EME said as much.

Your defintion of seamless means SWTOR is seamless as well (load screens in SWTOR are only when traveling between planets, which is obviously not walkable, and when entering instances)
TERA functions exactly like WoW, only with TOR/EQ2 copies of zones to prevent overcrowding

Hehe, that's kind of what I said right?
TOR as you just said does have loading screens from one zone to another via your ship (which I thought was slick). In TERA, like WoW the land masses are in the same game space. In the case of EQ2 and TOR the zones could reside anywhere in relation to each other. Most people might not care but I do as I don't like the gameworld to feel segmented. In TERA you can choose not to switch channels, in TOR/EQ2 you have no choice.
There are channels everywhere save for the cities. So it's kind of an instanced world.
I know some people like the instanced channels but i don't.
Channels are mainly used for over-crowded situations, instead of locking the server. This kind of system allows for channels in each server to compensate for over-population in certain areas. By default you will most likely be placed in channel one, but at the same time; changing channels is a choice in which TERA does not force you to use other-wise.
TERA has a vast world, in which you can pretty much travel on by foot or via mount without the need of loading screens. TERA is persistant world with certain areas that are instanced (like dungeons). CLICK
The game is most definitely instanced. (Instanced dungeons, and every 'zone' has channels that you can switch between. That's what an instance is).
That said, they do a fairly good job of making it feel seamless. You don't notice the channels half the time (unless you are trying to party w/ someone in a different channel, or are trying to avoid PKers). And the loading in between zones is masked by a portal animation, giving you the impression that you are flying through a warp drive in space, rather than a loading screen. Furthermore (from what I saw) the loading screens in this game are fairly quick, so again you don't tend to notice them. Definitely less loading screens than games like GW2, SWTOR, RIFT, etc.
Also, from what I've seen they handle a pretty good amount of players per instance. (few hundred in the channels)

What's funny is I actually only liked Tera because it brought me back to L2 which my first real MMO... /sigh in the end though I couldn't take the game as I had moved on in what I enjoyed. Tera really isn't bad, but it is what it is.. many people expect it to be their new MMO because its pretty(I still mantain this is the best game lookswise that i have ever seen) when they only know WoW... those people will not last in the game and will most likely regret their purchase.
On topic.. well thats in debate right now since some people seem to think a world is instanced if it has instanced dungeons. IMO it is not instanced and isnt seemless since there are invisible walls. To mention something someone else in this thread said.. channels do not make a game instanced, channels are just to make things less crowded and to combat lag and lack of mobs from too many people in one area.

Wrong, thats not a loading screen. You can tested it out by walking the flight path when you move to different zone there is no loading screen.
Ch only exist on certain zone for population control, default is always ch 1 it seems so most player are there. However if your doing quest and don't want to fight with other people for kills than thats what chs are for.

Seemless means there is no leading screen between zone, doesn't mean there isn't invisible walls and honestly they only exist along the boarder of the contients because your not allow to swim across the ocean.
