My first impressions of Patch 1.2 were not positive. While I appreciate the improved character textures, I had a real beef with the legacy system. I thought the point of legacy levels was to allow us to gain access to certain abilities through continued play, be it with a main character or an alt. Well, that's not exactly how it works. We all knew there was going to be insanely high credit restrictions on things like the in-ship GTN or the in-ship repair droid, but what is absolutely awful is the restrictions on unlocking races. If you wanted to create a Sith Pureblood Jedi, you are required to either play a Sith Pureblood to level 50 or purchase the right to use the race on the Republic side for one and a half million credits. This is the same for purchasing any unlockable race. Your actually legacy level plays a very miniscule part in your ability to unlock said features.
I think I can see right through what they're trying to do with the legacy system. It honestly feels to me like a cheap ploy to make rolling an alt feel like a unique game feature or basically actual in-game content instead of adding more meaty additions to engame like more story content, flashpoints, or raid zones.
I'll try the one singular flashpoint we were given later tonight, and hopefully I enjoy it a bit more.
You might not like what's in it, but with what they added (a lot), the patch was added perfectly. WoW couldn't add anything without crashing all the servers for hours/days when the game was this new. Kudos to Bioware....they seem to actually CARE about making this game better!
it deployed flawlessly TODAY, but it did NOT deploy flawlessly YESTERDAY.
Unfortunately, the bioware/swtor haters here are on their mindset no matter what. It make no difference at all what you post, if its positive at all they will slime it.
You'll just wind up frustrated if you have anything good to say, so best off staying away and play the game if you enjoy it.
I for one could never understand how i could finish a session in an mmo, having a great time, then come to these forums and read posts about how bad the game was. I guess thats why they've coined the phrase..."haters gonna hate"

Er? How is locking thousands of people out of the game entirely due to a bug in the patch flawless? What are you smoking?

this
you have absolutely 0 chance of starting a thread in this forum without it being trolled by someone about why they hate the game so much. Look at what has been said about giving away playtime to much of it's playerbase

MMORPG tends to be cynical(understatement of the year). This forum will call out the BS, and right now, we are staring @ a pile of it a mile high.
You see, we've been down this road before. We've already walked this path, many of us, more times than we'd like to admit, and this path always winds up @ the Abyss. Where MMOs go to die deaths of server consolidation, poor management, padded subscription numbers, and general failure.
We are watching the largest MMO train in history about to slam into the wall of no return. All they did today was lay a little more track, but at some point, the chickens are gonna come home to roost.
Sure there are plenty of general "haters," but by in large it's folks that have been here before.

Great point. And to everyone mentioning the maintenence for today...by flawlessly I was referring to the fact that it went a lot smoothly than previous patches from previous games I had encountered. I was trying to point out that Bioware did a good job with such a large patch (not great...I'll call it good) plus it was their first one! Yes the following patch is annoying, but it's one day later.....they didn't waste any time working on fixes for the bugs that ensued.
I apologize for trying to be hopeful on the future of a game I enjoy playing.

The mods need to get a handle on this thread. I have seen people warned/banned (me included) for far less than what is being posted in this one. Plenty of trolling, baiting, and hate related comments.

If you ask me, the issue lies not within the response but with the origin. As long as people make such threads expect the according responses.

Can't speak on people that support the game honestly, but I do agree with you. Sometimes people respond to their post and when they aren't in line with agreement these same folks are quick to report and flag a post for the person to get [Mod]'d and kicked for a couple days.
Sick tactic but it's been used on good source of people here including myself on a few occassions. I find post where someone blindly throws stuff out about a game and totally ignoring the glaring issues as a sort of "troll" aslo, but I wont go chasing down some [Mod] to report them.
Besides you can see through most of the bullshit people post anyhow. You have some examples of post that would garnish certain replies and get flagged. Why because the assumption made by the comments are just that outrageous.
PM before you report at least or you could just block.

Just saw that the game is being brought down tonight for patching... guess it wasn't implemented perfectly after all. LOL
Re: SWTOR
"Remember, remember - Kakk says 'December.'"
Someone get the OP back in here to explain the flawless nature of the patch again atm ?
it deployed flawlessly TODAY, but it did NOT deploy flawlessly YESTERDAY.

Patced new bugs into game better then most patches.

Soooooooo ... flawless it is right ? =P
Implemented flawlessly? Servers just went down a 2nd time to fix patch the fix patch to fix the patch.
It is Friday the 13th so maybe Eddie is running the patches and everyone else is...well hacked up.
You mean Freddy not Eddie.. Friday the 13th is Jason Vorhees also not Freddy Kruger..
Not important, doesn't change the stentch of failure on this game right now..
PM before you report at least or you could just block.
I stand corrected, thanks, been awhile since I seen the movies hehe.
All the same, you've acurrately described this horror show..

I left this thread alone yesterday because i had a different perspective on how it would end up.
