Was thinking about re-subbing to Rift but was wondering If people still play it? I dont wan't to make my bed in a burning house so to speak. I know they lost alot of subs early on but would consider playing again if servers had good action.
Pretty much you just need to find an active server, same applies to any non-top dog MMO. For instance LotRO, first server I was on was a desolace and that is an understatement. Typically like 5-8 people in a zone. Then went off to Brandwine I think and it was so jammed pack that people were fighting over nodes, at least in the early zones.
Ther are more than enough people jsut don't pick a ghost server.
Yeah they seem to have found the sweet spot for NA servers. Population is on the decline again, but its slight and wont be felt on the servers for a while.
I've been off since SWTOR early start, which I quit a couple of days ago. Resubbed Rift. I was worried about the same thing. I was pleasantly surprised to see Sanctum full and bustling when the screen loaded. That was at night. Lots of players were rolling new toons too.I guess none of the big games are just packed all the time like in the old days.Everyone is kind of searching, split up and scattered.Rift is a fine game and good to fall back on. The Rift staff seems to really try to please the players. Always improving. A patch with Fishing and Survivor Skills (Cooking) is coming up soon.
Ballerinas are always on their toes. Why don't they just get taller ballerinas?
Watching Rift Status the decline that started in early March seems to be over. The last week it fluctuated one day up a little one day down a little. Basically in break even point the last week. But it might be alittle bit to early to tell. It is better than the last 30 or so days of being a little loss every day. Overall the population on all NA serevrs is a good deal lower now than when the decline began. Maybe .20 on the Rift Staus per server but they are still much higher (about .4-.5 per server) than they were in late December when the upswing began. With 1.8 coming out soon we should likely be getting more people. But then again we have D3, Tera and eventually GW2 releasing. Even those games are notthe same style as Rift I am sure we will see a decline at release. Idoubt we will see the big upswing in subs we saw thanks to ToR;s release. But you never know if these new games are really bad like ToR it might mean mroe subs for Rift.
I was noticing that when I /who on Three Springs server that the players list is usually full. And I see lots of players around in the low level areas like old times. Good times.

Rift is not a burning house. It's going to be around and healthy for a while to come.
Are you guys speaking for the low level areas or high level areas ( or players). I would like to see a high population of high level players also. 15$ a month is a lot of money for a game, so i expect the best of the best. If theres population problems with higher level players than that tells you something.

Some of the higer populated servers have players in all zones doing what ever they are doing for their level. I just started a new toon on a new server just to see what was happening. I wasn't alone.

I just recently returned myself, and the two servers i play on are packed. Seastone and Briarcliff.
Darkfall - Sick
Earthrise - Sick

Agreed with other two. I play on Seastone and it's always busy.
"God, please help us sinful children of Ivalice.."
Plenty of people...
And you can move servers once per week for free I believe so you can locate one that has better population if you want.

Riptalon, Bloodiron, Blighweald Guardian side (EU) are all dead. Weekdays primetime or weekends, does not matter, lvl 50 chat stays silent for hours.
Gonna go check out Icewatch now for a week, if its as dead as the rest Im gonna cancel my sub.
Faeblight(RP) is always packed
Briarcliff is good.

Guilds have been moving off Bloodiron due to it being overpopulated...dont talk rubbish!
Bloodiron, Icewatch and Argent all 3 are EU but they always seem to have alot of people about.

Really? Then why is there absolutely nothing happening ? No pugs for old raids, for rifts, for 5mans, nothing.
I did not expect a WoW-like trade chat spam but I also did not expect complete deadness on a Sunday afternoon...
Or is there perhaps some secret LFG channel that I am not aware of?
Rift is not a burning house. It's going to be around and healthy for a while to come.
Gnarlwood is also packed..
Riptalon certainly isnt dead.

But most players have their max level toons.
I suggest Wolfsbane or Faeblight if you're using US servers.
Guardian side is underpopulated compared to Defiant. But leveling up you're not going to see too many either way.
