The next thing on the horizon.

I recently quit WoW because of all the lag issues and dissconects I had with it and the discovery of horrible customer service following them. Now I'm serching for a new MMO with the faction vs. faction type thing going on.

I went out and got guild wars for shits and found that after lvl 20 there isnt much left to do. Its fairly easy to get money, but exceptionaly hard to find a decent guild... which is the whole point of the damn game. Plus i found that it didn't quite own up to WoW (in my opinion! please don't go off on me. ::::03::) Pvp isnt as advanced and somtimes i find myself in the mood for a good raid... but there's a limit of 8 party members and there's no cities to reak havic in. (really, i wonder why they put the guards in places like ascalon and droknars... its not like there's gonna be any alliance raids to hold back.)

So does anyone know of a fairly good MMO with either faction vs. faction or somthing happening? Please I'm really desperate at this point. ::::06::

Shadowbane, Dark Age of Camelot and Neocron all have Realm Vs Realm PVP in one form or another. All have free trials too I might add.

actually i recently downloaded the DAoC "free trial" and found out that it was NOT free. the fact that they need a damn credit card number for a FREE TRIAL is a bit suspicous to me so i decided not to go with that... maybe later i'll get the real game and subscribe to it... it looks really fun :)

Neocron is that free online first-person shooter isn't it? I'm not a huge fan of FPS but i might give it a try.

I've never heard of shadowbane before... how is it?

Thank you for the reply :)

I played shadowbane when it first came out and it was bugged to hell I however manged to get in a town attack thingy I was in for 30 miniutes (coolest thirty minutes of PVP EVER right along with attacking a tower in DAoC) before the server crashed. I heard it got better but I'm not that sure
Thank you for the reply :)
    No problem, happy to helpimage

Neocron 2 is flat out horrible. Don't even bother trying it, they should have let it die by now. Yes it's fps and has open pvp (thats the best thing about the game right there) but nothing else is any good. Horrible servers, horrible support, tiny community which doesn't make for a good mmo, horrible bugs (been around forever), ridiculously bad at keeping to dates and promises 0 content.

Shadowbane could be the greatest pvp mmo around, but atm theres not enuff people playing it, I hear there planning a lore server and that it could bring some more people to the game, if it gets a big enough community it will be definatley worth a try again. As it's geared for pvp the lvling is fast and easy.

If I were you I would do what I am doing, wait paitently for Dark and Light and hope they can achieve what they are planning. It looks to be everything Shadowbane/DAoC was and more. Fingers crossed.

Heh some pretty strong feelings there regarding neocron... i guess i shoudn't wait the three hours it takes to download the damn thing then hey?

Yeah i guess i should wait... but have you heard any thing about city of villains and maybe a bit of PvP in it? i was thinking of trying it out... i mean the game's only $30 ::::02::

I didn't see anything about a subscription fee either... i might look into that more.

    Thanks again guys.

Dark Age of Camelot is what you are looking for. Right now I play DAoC for the awesome Realm vs. Realm action, and EQ2 to play with friends and PvE content.

Agree with remy, DAoC is Realm vs. Realm and the game has a heart of gold. I just started playing Lineage 2 again and am having a blast. It's open PvP, but when DAoC Epic version comes out this christmas I'm gonna get it. It has all the expansions including Catacombs (I'm 99% sure) so it will rock.

I wonder why they slapped warcraft on the title, but took it out of the game.

Actually, it IS free.  The reason they have a CC required is to make sure you will try to subscribe AFTER your trial.  If you DL it and cancell right then you will not get charged, but still have 14 days.

If WoW was your first MMORPG, i would not recomend Shadowbane.

If we knew the answer to that  the great mysteries of the universe would be easy.

As far as WoW is concerned, the cracks are starting to show.

Yeah the lack of end-game content really got to me... that and the customer service ><

I didn't even know there would be an epic DAoC version :D now I have somthing to look forward to... I guess I'll just wait for that... along with Dark and Light.

Thanks again guys, you've been a great help. ::::31::
