I'll probably start picking it up when the expansion pack comes out but i'm really looking for a good game to play. I don't mind buying tha game and having a monthly subscription but i don't want to waste my money on a game that i'll play for a week. any1 have suggestions

If you like Guild Wars, then casual player friendly World of Warcraft will probably appeal.

there's no purpose to runescape u run around to get more gold so u can spend the gold to get better armor and weapons and u use the weapons and armor to kill people until u die then u do it all over again. thats runescape in a nutshell

    City of Heroes.

The game only has 1 raiding content, it is pretty easy for the designers to make a 180 on raiding and completely remove it from the game. In WoW, you will be jammed in a raiding game, the designers cant make a 180 now, it represent an incredible risk in WoW and Blizzard is not the company who take risks, ever. (doing so is a poor short term decision, but the long term would benefit, if they do that just prior CoV release with tons of advertising I would bet it would be a winner)

City of Heroes is faster, more friendly and more action packed then WoW anyway...well, City of Heroes is the best (or less bad) MMO out there.  You got a blast in GW (NCsoft is behind Arena Net and behind Cryptic)...I suggest strongly you try CoH...remember 1 thing however, NCsoft products are incredibly differents and varied (unlike competitors where you remain within the same style all the time).

If one day they remove the Hamidon completely from the game (well, the benefits it gave in grouping and soloing in PvE to be exact), I would rejoin it and restore faith in the old guard of the game! image

WoW is done by the folks who fire the team that build Diablo & now Guild Wars...I would not recommend their game. EQ2 is the best community oriented game, but if you are not a Lady of 50+, odds are you lack the social interest to keep up with the game. EQ is a classic, definitely a better choice then WoW, WoW was built by cry babies running away from EQ, the more the time will pass, the more the game will be similar to old EQ, no point in doing it honestly. Horizons would be quite different, it is a little hardcore on it approach, but if you can bypass it, the game can be great fun.

But I will again repeat it...City of Heroes outmatch all those games, easily...and it is 1 step away from been a MUCH better game...all they needs to do is hit a DELETE button on the Hamidon and the game is rocking again!

A healthy game has a player base wanting more levels and more harder stuff...all raid oriented games are jammed with cry babies player base that cant see anything worser then a few more levels.  New levels is what every player should be craving for when they like a game...when they scowl at the idea of new levels, you know the game is no longer fun and the player base is ruined beyond repairs.

Many players left CoH...should the game add new stuff(like CoV) and remove completely the Hamidon, I think it would break the 500k players, considering it is a super heros MMO, it would be quite a feat...the highest score a MMO that is not fantasy oriented is prolly SWG at like 350k players...and they have a strong franchise backing them.

CoH and CoV could be leading the industry in a few years, if they make the corrects decisions (often exactly the opposite of what SoE or Verant would have done, at least when high end is concerned...and there is no such thing as a middle of the road, you are either a raiding high end game or not, and atm CoH is, but it would be so easy to remove all that, 1 afternoon worth of work).
