What I was going to say here was WHERE ARE THE FREAKING SPITFIRES? But then they answerd that in the video.
bah I want the battleships
Vroooooaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrr.....
I wonder how they will balance airspeed differences. Being able to outmaneuvre an oponent with a more nimble plane is fine but when differences in speed are too great, nothing will prevent the fast guys from just zipping out of canon / gun range and return for strafing runs on their own terms.
Planes like the Me 262 & Me163 and the Mustang to a lesser extent would be dominating everything simply by being much faster if they go for realism, so probably they'll tone their speeds down significantly.
My brand new bloggity blog.
Probably going to use a similar approach to World of Tanks where all of the tanks are broken up by tech levels and placed in PvP queue according to that level. So a level 1 tank will never fight against a level 5 tank.
As far as speed differences in the same tech level, again, they'll probably do something similar to how it was done in WoT where the fastest tanks were also very easy to disable, not to mention were a lot less durable. So I can see the the fastest planes losing their speed advantages, at least temporarily, once they get hit. Or even being really easy to shoot down, provided that you manage to hit one.
World of Planes is going to dominate this game. All you're going to have here is an arena combat game just like World of Tanks in the air. Boring.
